Hello Friends

Tonight I have three cards to share.

This first one was made as a result of playing with some Distress watercolours I used on my second card.  I loved the colouring but didn’t feel it fitted my second card, so decided to make another simple card.

The colours and sketch challenge also helped to design the card. The texture was added using Spellbinders Celebrations 3D Embossing Folder. The heart tag is from Mama Elephant.

Party Party Party Party

My second card tonight was inspired by the Winnie & Walter Colour Challenge.

I smooched Distress Inks on small pieces of card (one for each colour) and then used the w&w die from The Big, The Bold and Party Cutaways.

You Make Life Sweet

Hi there

This cute little …goodness, Penny Black  image was so lovely to use for Copic colouring.

When I found the paper from a Spotlight Christmas theme pad, I couldn’t resist using it to mirror the lolly pop. The sentiment came from a set by Impression Obsession – Cupcake.  I thought it was perfect for a change to the usual happy birthday.

As I had used red, white and blue I am entering it in the Less is More Challenge#335 – Country Flag Colours, Curtain Call – Red, White & Blue, Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge July 2017 – Birthday and Addicted to Stamps and More – Clean and Simple and Simon Says Stamps -Monday Challenge.

Hello Everyone

I have been doing some Tombow water colouring and decided to have another play with Watercolour Lifting + Heat Embossing  as shown by Jennifer McGuire on 22/02/16.

I was happy with the way the bright colours turned out.

I decided to use the panel for the CAS(E) this sketch CTS#228 as well as enter it in ‘the challenge #88’ from Always Playing with Paper.

Celebrate

Hi Everyone

Tonight’s card is rather different as it doesn’t involve any real colouring. A big change for me!  It’s always good to have a few more male cards in the stash.

The red striped background was stamped using MFT Pinstripe BG stamp and Memento Love Letter Ink. The square frame uses MFT Pierced Square Frames.  I watercoloured the background piece with Distress Ink. The next section was die cutting the flags from MFT Blueprints 16 and MFT Stars dies. The sentiment from MFT Bitty Banners.

Hip Hip Hooray

Back again!  🙂

This card is one of my favourites. I recently bought this great sentiment stamp- the Best Wine from a new Aussie company, Paper Rose and hadn’t used it yet. When I saw the latest challenge from AAA Cards, I thought it would work well with another of my favourite stamp from Art Impressions – Wine Tasters Set.

I started by stamping the ladies in Memento Ink – London Fog and then used it to watercolour the picture so the sentiment, stamped in Brilliance  Lightning Black ink, takes centre stage. I added the little tag at the top.

Heart Butterflies

Hello again

I made this card when a friend asked for a simple but elegant Engagement card. It uses the Memory Box – Butterfly Heart die inside a Wonky Stitch Square Stax from My Favourite Things. I placed some decorative paper behind the butterflies, then popped them up and added Wink of Stella to their wings and some silver pen for their bodies. The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up – Heard from the Heart set.

Hope this day is as Special as you are

Welcome Crafty Friends

As you can tell I’m on holidays …. so lots of time to play!

Tonight’s first card uses one of the first wooden block stamps I bought from a craft shop from Sugarloaf  Products.  I’ve always loved it and have played around with it many times. This card is very simple with a water coloured rose and some shadows using Distress Inks. In real life it’s a very vibrant red but unfortunately it looks rather orange here. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

Just Saying Hello

My second card was made using some of my recently purchased goodies!

Altnew’s Painted Butterflies is a new set for me, so it was a perfect choice to test out my Distress Oxide Inks.  I had used them to make backgrounds as used on this card (Peeled Paint) but it was fun to try some stamping.  The butterflies were stamped using Spiced Marmalade which I sprayed lightly with some pearlised water.  If you look carefully you can see it gave an uneven colour which is what I was after.  I then stamped the next layer with just the  ink and got a more concentrated pure colour.  The final layer was stamped with Memento – Rich Cocoa as well as some flicks.

Luckily, these colours suited the Colour Throwdown keyword: ctd 449 and I also used made Freshly Made Sketches 294.

Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday!

Welcome! I hope you’ve had an enjoyable weekend.

Tonight I’m back with a fun card using Mama Elephant  – Arctic Penguins stamped in black with  a little grey shading with Distress Ink.

The card was cut using My Favourite Things -Stitched Basic Edges and a scrap of Distress Inked paper was inserted which gives it a real pop of interest.

The sentiment was from Mama Elephant – Mini Messages and Simon Says Stamps – Circle Sayings.

It suits the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #229.
