Hello and welcome

This week, I chose to share this birthday card I made for my daughter. It features another wonderful image from  Santoro Gorjuss Stamps – Mini Rubber Stamp – No 29, The Hatter, which I copic coloured. My daughter and I just love their stamps!

The panel was trimmed using the Cutplorations Wonky Rectangle Die.

The Cutplorations -Happy – die, was ombre coloured, again with copics.

The background features sections of the border of paper from a set of photocopy prints depicting Alice in Wonderland images, black cardstock and an old scrap of designer paper.

Please be sure to check out all the wonderful creations from the rest of the team on our blog.

WWC154 – Judy’s “All About Christmas” Challenge

Welcome to this week’s challenge WWC154 – Judy’s “All About Christmas” Challenge.

Welcome

I had so much fun Distress watercolouring this cute little image from Wild Rose Studio- Bluebell with Robin.

I had picked this stamp set up on a throw out after Christmas and just fell in love with it. This week’s challenge gave me a perfect excuse to play and begin my stash of Christmas cards for this year!

The image was stamped in Tea Dye ink.  The sentiment from the set is heat embossed in silver.  It was then cut using Stamplorations wonky rectangle dies.  To add a little glimmer, I used MFT – Star Celebration stencil with Ranger Texture Paste sprinkled with Elizabeth Crafts Cool Diamond Microfine Glitter.

Please be sure to check out all the wonderful creations from the rest of the team on our blog.

Just a Note – Music

P1070085

Welcome

This lovely music die is one of the new “goodies” in my stash. When I saw the Addicted to CAS challenge, I had the perfect way to use it.

I decided on a totally different look  on the background which looks really pretty and delicate IRL.  It started with smooshing some Spun Sugar Distress Ink which had been sprayed with pearlised water.  Small roses from Altnew’s Painted Flowers were then stamped in the same colour randomly over the area.  They are almost ghosted. I picked out the flowers with a light wash of colour followed by some Wink of Stella to make them stand out just a little more.

P1070086

The white die cut using Couture Designs – Musical Notes was also covered with Wink of Stella.

The sentiment from Kaisercraft – Keepsake Stamp Set , ( a new set I picked up on sale before Christmas), was stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Welcome to this week’s challenge WWC153 – Gail’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

I guess I’m still on my kraft bent!

This is a stamp that’s been sitting on my desk for a while but I hadn’t decided how I wanted to use it.  After making an earlier card with the black, white and kraft combination I finally made a start.

I stamped Darkroom Door – Arty Mosiac, 3 times. First with black embossing on white, second with white embossing on black and lastly white embossing on kraft.

Step 2 was cutting the images on the kraft and black cardstock.  They were then arranged over almost every other base square to form a pattern and attached with black fun foam so they were raised to add to the overall effect.  (See the photo below.)

P1070070It was finished by adding black and kraft strips to the sides of  the base card. The sentiment from Simon Says Stamps – Circle Sayings is black heat embossed and layered on kraft and black

The good thing is you have enough pieces to make 3 or maybe even 4 cards with lots of options as to how to arrange them!

Birthday Fishes – Circles

P1070058

Hello and welcome

I have used this great Art Impressions stamp set (Reel Great Guys Set) a few times, but using only the main image, so I decided to see how I could change it up a bit incorporating some of the other smaller images.

The images are coloured with Copics, the main image cut using a circle die and the smaller images fussy cut and attached to smaller circles using mounting tape.

Some very old Heidi Swapp designer paper was cut and joined as the background.  The bottom corners were finished with a corner rounder.

Kick Up Your Heels – Silver

P1070067

Hello again

I thought this great die from Catchy Crafts (Australia)it made the perfect focus for my Distress watercolour piece.  It is cut from a piece of glitter card.

This time I blended some Distress Inks onto the piece and then spritzed it with Perfect Pearls water to get a great shimmer as well as a lovely washed effect. IRL it looks much more purple and shiny! (Unfortunately, in the photo it looks blue!  😦 )

The silver heat embossed sentiment is from Hero Arts – High Heels stamp set and the card is finished off with some rhinestones coloured purple with a Copic marker.

The background piece uses Cutplorations Wonky Rectangle Dies that is layered on the card front using craft foam.

Thinking of You

P1070063

Hello

The Mod squad Colour Challenge of kraft, black and white, is one I just love!

Altnew’s Persian Motifs flowers were white heat embossed on black cardstock.  I then used a white coloured pencil to add some detail shading, before adding some white dots with my Gelly Roll pen before  being fussy cut but keeping the corners in tact.

On the kraft card, I splattered some black and white acrylic paint. I am so much happier with this new pack of kraft card as my previous pack was not a good colour at all.

The sentiment is from Altnew’s Floral Shadow stamp set.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #152 Kath’s “All About Occasions”

P1070047Welcome back to  another challenge at WWC #152 – Kath’s “All About Occasions” Challenge.

WWC152 - Kath's All About Occasions ChallengeI had so much fun making this card using this stamp set and sentiment die for the first time.  It has lots of little steps but is not difficult or too time consuming!!

To begin, I white heat embossed 3 of the donut images from Lawn Fawn’s Donut Worry set .  I then water coloured them using Distress Inks, fussy cut them, added some clear Wink of Stella and drew on some sprinkles before adding a layer of Glossy Accents over the icing.

The box uses a MFT Pierced Rectangle Die cut from corrugated card.  I layered it up with 2 layers.  The base was a scrap piece of card covered in tissue.  Extra pieces of tissue were glued to the back of the rectangle and folded to the front.

The background piece is cut with a Stamplorations Wonky Rectangle Die.

The donuts were then added inside the box with foam adhesive.  The die sentiment from Stamplorations was cut from designer paper, layered up using 4 die cuts and covered with clear embossing powder.  The ‘wishes’ is from an old set I picked up years ago at a cheap shop (I love the font!), and white heat embossed on brown card.

To finish, I added a small tag stamped with a Mama Elephant – Mini Messages sentiment.

Be sure to see what the rest of the team have come up with at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge blog.
