WWC159 – Marsha’s “All About Christmas” Challenge

Welcome back to this week’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 159 – Marsha’s “All About Christmas” Challenge. 

My card this week has clean lines in silver and white.

The layers are cut using MFT Die-namics – Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX set.

The largest has a silver heat embossed Christmas Tree from Papermania – Belissima Christmas.

A smaller one is attached just under with a piece of white and silver Christmas ribbon, cut with a matching fishtail, between them. The smallest is added to the top left hand corner after embossing the sentiment from the same set.

Penny Black – from the Heart

Hello and welcome

My card features Penny Black – Flower Gala stamp set, which I water coloured with Distress and Tombow Pens.

To start, I drew a heart shape on my cardstock and stamped the flower slightly tilted, to fit along the left side.

After water colouring the flowers, the heart shape was water coloured with Distress Inks. Both were then covered in Wink of Stella clear glitter.

The sentiment is one of my favourites from There She Goes.

Searching my scrap box, I found a piece of designer paper which matched the heart and a strip of silver card.

Fabulous – It’s Your Day to Sparkle

When I saw the Scrapbook Boutique February Challenge, I just knew it would be fun to join! I chose to go with the black, gold and sparkle theme.

My card features a cute little fairy mouse from Docrafts – Hot Diggity Dog by Andrea Jayne.  I just love all the fun images in this set! After die cutting a star using MFT Star Stax, I stamped and water coloured the mouse using Distress inks and some gold Delicata ink. I then masked the mouse and added Distress Oxides, which I splattered with pearlised water.

The black card background was splattered with acrylic paints (white, gold and silver), Glitter Angels – Glitter Paint and some random gold embossed sparkles from Winnie & Walter – Sparkle Stamp set.

The MFT Absolutely Fabulous die was cut in gold card and adhered to black fun foam.  The rest of the gold heat embossed sentiment and stars are a combination of stamps from the W&W set and Concord & 9th – Happy Day stamp set.

WWC158 – Helen’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

I am lucky enough to host this week’s  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 158 – Helen’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

 

For this week’s male challenge, I decided on another stamp set from Art Impressions – Any Cake Set. After water colouring the faces stamp with Distress Inks, I painted in a basic background before, fussy cutting sections to fit inside the Mama Elephant window die (after removing the centre window panes).

I also stamped the Art Impressions – Cake Promo stamp and a sideboard from an old wood block stamp, I had picked up years ago on a throw out table.

After adding a piece of Designer paper, I attached the window and a cut down section of sideboard and cake with raised tape.

To finish, I added a sentiment die from Simply Dies on fun foam.  I love the way the fun foam adds dimension to a die cut sentiment and helps it to really stand out.

Birthday Love and Hugs

This card features my new layering stamp set from Altnew – Springtime Azalea.

My stash of wonderful designer papers doesn’t seem to get used often, so when I saw The Flower Challenge was paper piecing, I decided it was time to use some.  I white heat embossed the outline flower on pink designer paper, which has a light floral print.  I then stamped the 4th detail image in Altnew in Coral Berry, the stamens in black ink and the small speckled image in Altnew Pink Diamond ink.

The leaves were white heat embossed on some multi-coloured green paper and fussy cut along with the flowers.

A piece of dark green card stock was cut using My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges.

The white heat embossed sentiment came from Altnew’s Stunning Cosmos and  Sketchy Floral sets. from The flowers were arranged along the edge of the green card.

WWC157 – Heidi’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

Welcome to this week’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 157 – Heidi’s “All About Occasions”.

As this challenge gives you lots of scope for design, I decided it was about time I made another CAS card, as although I love them, I don’t make them very often!

So I pulled out a great new stamp set, – Party On with Evelin T Designs for Winnie & Walter, and had lots of fun water colouring these cute little critters with Distress Inks.

The Die is Courture Creations Kalini  Musical Notes, cut from black card and covered with Wink of Stella – black. ( The four musical notes allow me to enter it in the Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash Challenge.)

The sentiment is also from the Winnie & Walter stamp set.

It’s Your Birthday … Go WILD

I love this fun image from Art Impressions – Wild Hog Birthday.  This sweet pig has so much character!  I thought she deserved her shiny blue dress and lip gloss as she delivers her cupcake!

So when the Challenge over at AI is “Sweet Treats”, I just had to bring her out! LOL!

The image is water coloured with Distress Inks. Her dress has a double layer of clear Wink of Stella and some small silver dots.

For the background, I partially die cut a heart, then fussy cut around the rest of the image. The background piece is smooched with Distress Inks sprayed with Perfect Pearls water and a sprinkle of sweets from Lawn Fawn – Donut Worry and Year Seven.

WWC 156 – Penny’s Feminine” Anything Goes” Challenge

This week’s challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday is WWC 156 – Penny’s Feminine “Anything Goes”.

January is such a busy month for me, as so many special people have their birthday.  For our challenge this week, I have chosen this very feminine birthday card.

 

It features a cute, gold embossed cat image from Waffle Flower – Flora Cat Play, which I water coloured using Distress Inks.  I then added a double layer of Wink of Stella to make sure it was very glittery!  (IRL – LOL!)   The background used Distress Ink, overstamped in gold using SSS Falling Background Stamp Set – Hearts.

The Sentiment die is from MFT – Brushstokes Birthday Greetings, gold embossed and layered up 3 times.

For a bit of fun and interest, I added the gold cord from the end of the sentiment to make it look as though the cat was playing.
