Cheers – Coloured Bottles

P1070252

Welcome back

I decided to have some fun with lots of bright colours and a new die for this card.

After water colouring wide bands of Distress Ink rainbow colours, I cut the Winnie & Walter ‘Cheers’ die and covered it with Liquid Glass Clear embossing powder (very old, so not sure of the brand). I then popped it up on some fun foam.

I then cut 5 bottle images using MFT – Wine Series Dies, coloured them with Distress Inks and finished with 2 coats of  Liquid Glass.

To ground them, I added a strip of kraft card before adhering the bottles.

Happy Birthday – You Deserve a Treat

P1070266

Hello and welcome

My card today is a fun take on the Altnew  and the AAA Cards Challenges.

After marking off roughly one third of the card in the middle of the card, I stamped the images from Altnew’s Summer Swirls set.

The background and images were then water coloured with Distress Inks.  Some Wink of Stella was added and then the main sections covered with Glossy Accents for some interest.

Finally, the sentiments were added from the Summer Swirls set and the Happy Birthday from Mama Elephant’s Mini Messages.

WWC163 – Penny’s “All About Christmas” Challenge

P1070262Hello again!

It’s time for our latest challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week Penny is hosting the “All About Christmas” Challenge.

No automatic alt text available.

Joining in is a great way to ensure you’re off and running  with your stash of Christmas cards!  What’s not to love!  LOL!

I love the beautiful class ornaments with their gold decorations.  This was my inspiration for this week’s card.

I  started by gold heat embossing the reindeer from a Prima Stamps – Happy Holidays set in the centre of the card.

Using a circle die, I drew a faint pencil line around the image.

The hanger is from a Verve – Merry Wishes set and gold heat embossed.

I used  pale blue, pink, lemon and aqua Distress Inks to make a very soft water colour wash over the circle, to replicate the glass reflecting the lights.  To finish it, I added a light spray of Tattered Angels, Shimmer Mist – Bubbles through a home made circle stencil.  It is very delicate and shimmery IRL!

The heat embossed sentiment was also from  a Verve stamp set – Glad Tidings.

The panel was cut using Stamplorations  –  Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangles die.

Thanks for checking out my card and be sure to check out all the other  amazing creations from our talented design team over at our blog.

I hope you enjoy our Christmas Challenge and I look forward to seeing all the wonderful entries.

Hello and Welcome

Today’s card is inspired by the Scrapbook Boutique March Challenge.

I have some new Chameleon pens my daughter gave me for Christmas, so I decided to try them out on the flowers from Altnew’s Wild Hibiscus stamp set.  To finish them, I added some black Wink of Stella to the flowers and butterfly, before fussy cutting them.

The background is a black Altnew Shutter Cover Die cut glued to a white top opening card.

I arranged the flowers on the front, raising 2 of them up to add dimension.

The sentiment from another Altnew set – Wishing You was stamped in Brilliance – Lightning Black and plain  black inks on a fish tail  banner with  a  butterfly added to the top.

Not my usual colour combinations, so not sure how I feel about this one!  I’ve had mixed reaction from people who’ve seen it!  LOL

P1070256Hello again

As Easter is just around the corner and I’m seeing rabbits everywhere, I decided to make a card using this gorgeous image – “for goodness sake  from Penny Black. She looks so cute playing in her backyard!

After water colouring with Distress Inks, I added some Glossy Accents to her buttons, flowers, the carrots and wheels on the wagon, and of course her black shoes!

I decided to leave this card, very clean and simple, so as to keep the focus on the image.

A Mama Elephant rectangle die was used to cut the panel.

The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Heartfelt Thanks set.

Hello and welcome

Today’s card is a simple but elegant layout that I really  love. It was just perfect for my card ladies today!

The background is created by blending Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on white card stock and giving it a fine spray with pearlised water and a few splatters.

I then die cut Memory Box – Catalina Border from white card and glued it along the RHS and added some clear Wink of Stella for shine. (Very pretty IRL)

A light edging with distress ink along the die cut tag helped to set it off against the background.  I added snippets of the flower die which had been coloured to match, along with a sentiment from Verve Stamps – Kind Words set and  small white twine bow.  It was attached using raised tape.

Perfect Pastimes

P1070247

Welcome

When Art Impressions released their new challenge – Perfect Pastimes”, I could think of nothing better than spending time with FRIENDS!

The central image, from Art Impressions – Wine Tasters, was stamped on white card and Distress water coloured.  A second image was stamped using AI Under My Umbrella Stamp Set, but only the corners required water colouring.

Black photo frames from from Kaisercraft – Decorative Die- Polaroid.  They were then glued across the images, to highlight the main aspects, and trimmed so it  looked like a photo.

A piece of designer paper was added to a larger than normal top folding card and the sentiment from AI Under My Umbrella set was stamped at the bottom.

The photos are then attached to the card front.
