Hello again and welcome to this week’s great new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Heidi is hosting the Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge 160.
My inspiration for this technique came from the Altnew Blog post by Dana G Crafts
I started by stamping Wplus9 – Kind Soul flowers in Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Watercolour paper. I then coloured them with Distress Inks and finished by bringing the colours down from the flowers as thought the colours were dripping down, as well as creating a light halo above them. Finally I added a spray of Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist – Bubbles to give some shimmer. (So pretty IRL).
The Simply Dies — Scripty Hello was double cut from black cardstock and given a coat of Wink of Stella Black.
To finish, I added some sequins and mounted the panel on coloured card. I think the addition of these layers and die cut sentiment enhance the basic one layer main panel without overshadowing it, and helps bring the eye’s focus back to the pretty flowers.
I was really pleased with the way it turned out and how easily it came together. It was just perfect for a special friend on her birthday.
I appreciate your visit and please be sure to check out all the wonderful creations from the rest of the team on our blog.
We’re looking forward to seeing what you create this week.

What a lucky friend, to receive this gorgeous creation for her birthday, Helen. I love the colour halos and the “dripping” of colour at the bottom of the flowers. You’ve managed to create a wonderfully feminine piece of art. You have a real flair for working with colours. Beautifully done!
