It’s time for our latest challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week Penny is hosting the “All About Christmas” Challenge.
Joining in is a great way to ensure you’re off and running with your stash of Christmas cards! What’s not to love! LOL!
I love the beautiful class ornaments with their gold decorations. This was my inspiration for this week’s card.
I started by gold heat embossing the reindeer from a Prima Stamps – Happy Holidays set in the centre of the card.
Using a circle die, I drew a faint pencil line around the image.
The hanger is from a Verve – Merry Wishes set and gold heat embossed.
I used pale blue, pink, lemon and aqua Distress Inks to make a very soft water colour wash over the circle, to replicate the glass reflecting the lights. To finish it, I added a light spray of Tattered Angels, Shimmer Mist – Bubbles through a home made circle stencil. It is very delicate and shimmery IRL!
The heat embossed sentiment was also from a Verve stamp set – Glad Tidings.
The panel was cut using Stamplorations – Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangles die.
Thanks for checking out my card and be sure to check out all the other amazing creations from our talented design team over at our blog.
I hope you enjoy our Christmas Challenge and I look forward to seeing all the wonderful entries.

Oh my Helen. You always go the extra mile and design a unique and special card. This one is no exception. I love your inspiration and how you were able to take that and create a little masterpieces. The reindeer image is so beautiful on it’s own, but captured o nthis Christmas bobble it just stops the show. Thanks so much for inspiring and sharing your wonderful talents.

Thanks so much, Penny. You are so very kind and supportive. I must admit I wasn’t really tuned into Christmas right now, but love that old stamp. So after dragging it out it was just about how to use it. From there, it was a very quick and easy card to make. Take care and enjoy a safe and happy Easter! x

My goodness, Helen, your card is amazing! I love the simplicity of the layout, especially the funky double-stitched border. It makes a wonderful frame for the star of the show, that incredible bauble with the gold-embossed fancy reindeer. But as stunning as that reindeer is, the bauble takes centre-stage. I am amazed at how beautifully you give the impression of a delicate glass bauble. The subtle colours really do give the impression that they are reflecting the lights around the room and tree. Your creativity amazes me!
