WWC176 – Kath’s “All About Christmas” Challenge

P1070516

Here we are with the latest “All About Christmas” Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday blog, with Kath as our lovely hostess.

My card was inspired by this wonderful card by the talented Heather Hoffman, a Design Team member for Winnie & Walter.  I loved this card as soon as I saw it.  It has such a soft and  calming feel to it.

For my card, I started by using Distress Ink blending on a piece of cardstock (Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce), darker towards the bottom.  It was then sprayed with Glimmer Mist and then some water. White paint was then flicked over the top.

Taylored Expressions – Birch Tree Cutting plate was used as the focal point.   After cutting 4, the top one has some grey ink added in patches along with some white paint flicks and some Glimmer Mist.

A fawn from a cheap stamp set, by Creative Pl from Aldi, was stamped in DI and then watercoloured and fussy cut.

After stacking the die cuts, the fawn was slotted between the trees and the whole die added to the front panel.  Some raised tape was added to the front of the fawn to make it seem to be coming through the trees.

The panel was added to the card front the trimmed.

The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter – The Big, The Bold and Greetings stamp set.  After stamping in black ink, it was fussy cut and added to the card front.

I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  It has a soft shimmer which is difficult to see in the photos.  I hope you like it too.

Have a great day

WWC175 – Marsha’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

P1070515Hello and welcome! Time for a new challenge!  This week, Marsha is hosting our Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!

For my card I decided to use an old stamp set I haven’t used for years!  When I see it I don’t know why, as I love it!

I started by doing some Distress Ink smooching on a piece of card. The next step is to add some plasterers webbing down the centre. It is sticky so it sticks on itself when you add some cuts and folds. To finish the background, some thick cotton twine was added.

The stamp was a wood block with a  small nautical stamp on each side, produced by a local designer.  After stamping, they were water coloured with Distress Inks and cut out.
Foam tape allowed them to be attached over the twine.

The sentiments came from Mama Elephant – Occasional Labels.

I hope you like my card and you’ll join us this week!

Please be sure to check out our blog for lots of great inspiration!

Have a great week!

Once again, I reached for another Art Impressions stamp set – Udderly Fantastic.  So much fun!

I coloured the stamped image with Distress Watercolour, before fussy cutting it.  I added some Wink of Stella for some shine to the dresses and also some dots with Gelly Roll pens.

The balloons use SSS Celebration Time Dies. The biggest is cut from black cad and white heat embossed, while the other 2 are decorated in the same way as the skirts!

Winnie & Walter – Party On stamp set gave me the music notes. Designer paper was used as the background.

I then followed the instructions in the Jennifer McGuire videos Floating Stamped Images  and https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2019/04/floating-images.html to assemble the card and make those lovely ‘girls’ dance!

I hope this card brought a smile to your day!  Here are another couple of photos to show their dancing skills! LOL!

WWC173 – Tenia’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

P1070503

Hello and welcome to our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week, the lovely Tenia is hostess for our June Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

This week I decided to have some fun with my card and move away from flowers.
I just love Art Impressions stamps and this one is no exception.

I started by stamping and colouring the images with Copic markers., adding a little Wink of Stella to the scarves and some gold pen to the jewellery and boots. (Just for fun!)

I used Darice EF brick background and attached it to the card front.  I cut a small piece from the bottom, turned it over and added some grey copic colour and glued it back to the bottom to form the footpath. I added some designer paper to the inside to make it look like the interior of a cafe.

After cutting out the images, and the window panels, I marked off the area to be removed from the card front. Once this is done and the front image is attached, it is easy to line up the inside image.   For a little more dimension, I also added another stamped sign for the top of the window.

To finish the inside, I added the last image from the set the inside, so it can be seen through the window and added the sentiment under the inside window.

The front ‘sweet’ die cut is from Cutplorations.  It was cut 3 times from white card and had designer paper and Wink of Stella on top.  The sentiment is from a very old set from a $2 shop years ago!

Thanks again for visiting.  Please be sure to check out the amazing work from the Design Team over at our blog.

Happy crafting

Helen
