WWC175 – Marsha’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

P1070515Hello and welcome! Time for a new challenge!  This week, Marsha is hosting our Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!

For my card I decided to use an old stamp set I haven’t used for years!  When I see it I don’t know why, as I love it!

I started by doing some Distress Ink smooching on a piece of card. The next step is to add some plasterers webbing down the centre. It is sticky so it sticks on itself when you add some cuts and folds. To finish the background, some thick cotton twine was added.

The stamp was a wood block with a  small nautical stamp on each side, produced by a local designer.  After stamping, they were water coloured with Distress Inks and cut out.
Foam tape allowed them to be attached over the twine.

The sentiments came from Mama Elephant – Occasional Labels.

I hope you like my card and you’ll join us this week!

Please be sure to check out our blog for lots of great inspiration!

Have a great week!

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

    1. Hi Lyzz. They are great stamps. They were by a Brisbane (Australia) company called Lucy’s Stamps back in the early 2000. I don’t think they are around any more but your could always try on ebay. Thanks for your really kind comments. I really appreciate them! x

  2. I think this is the coolest masculine card design I’ve seen for a while!! Love the background colouring and the ‘nets’ look brilliant with the ‘rope’ woven around them. The images are so beautifully coloured and really tell a story. This is so very cool and I’m so glad you shared it with us at TIME OUT!

  3. I absolutely love this! Such pretty details and the small holiday-themed images are perfect for our challenge. Love the nautical, rustic feel of this card. Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!
