Welcome to another challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it’s Gail’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge.
My card features an image from Penny Black – Party Friends and balloons from MFT Beary Special Birthday, which are coloured with a mix of Distress Inks and Distress Oxides and fussy cut. Thread was added to the balloons to add interest.
The brick background uses a Darice EF. Using Distress Oxide with a fine brush, I added the mortar to the bricks.
The Winnie & Walter Cheers Cutaway Die was cut from a piece featuring Distress Oxide smooching.
To finish, I stamped small sentiments from Winnie & Walter’s – Party On Set on the bricks.
I was quite happy with the outcome. It would make a great fun card for any males in the family – either young or older!
This month’s challenge over at Penny Black and More requires ‘B’ items. Mine include: bricks, blue bike, black cat, blue balloons and boxes (some blue). So many!
Don’t forget to check out the great projects from the Design Team this week over at our blog. I hope you have a chance to join the challenge this week.
Cheers
Helen

This is such a cool design for a masculine card. I really struggle with cards for men, so its nice to see they can still have cute characters on them without being too ‘girly’. That brick background is super cool, so dimensional and the bright colours are definitely screaming ‘party’!! So glad you joined us at TIME OUT!

Hi Gwendolyn. Thanks so much for your very kind comments. I loved the way this card turned out. No the shadows were a part of adding all the fussy cut pieces with raised tape. It’s the easy way to get great natural shadow effects. Helen xx
