WWC194 – “Anything Goes” Challenge

P1060167

Hello and welcome

This month has an extra Wednesday, so we have a special – “Anything Goes” Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday this week. It gives you lots of scope to join in the fun this week!

Image may contain: textFor my card, I decided on a simple CAS design which could be used for many different occasions.

The copic coloured flowers are from Altnew’s Magnolia’s for Her stamp set. After fussy cutting, they were arranged on a stitched circle die cut and attached using raised tape.

The background uses a EF  and a simple strip coloured to match the flowers.

I love this simple sentiment from There She Goes Stamps.  An oldie but a goodie!

Now it’s time to pop over to our blog for more inspiration. I hope you get the chance to  join in this week.

Have a good one

Helen

WWC193 – Tristan’s “All About Holidays” Challenge

P1070858Hi there friends

Welcome back for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week it is Tristan’s “All About Holidays” Challenge.

Image may contain: textThis week, I had fun playing with Stampingbella’s  – Gingerbread Chicks stamp set.  One was stamped on a die cut Papertrey tag and the other on a piece of scrap card.  After water  colouring with Distress Inks, the scrap was fussy cut.

The addition of Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents were used for added interest on the hats.

The Cuttlebug EF was used to make a background piece which I adhered to the card front along with a strip of gold cardstock.

The tag was finished with gold splatters and a gold edge, before adding the sentiment and some gold ribbon.

The chick and tag were adhered using raised tape.

I hope you like this fun little Christmas card.  If you wanted, you could remove the tag and use it as a decoration.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you will head over to our blog to check out the other Designer cards before joining our challenge.

Have a great week

Cheers

Helen

WWC192 – Marsha’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Welcome

It’s time for our new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday. This week Marsha is hosting the Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Image may contain: one or more people and textI had a piece of the spot DP left over from a previous card and decided I wanted to incorporate it into this week’s card.  Sounds easy, but it certainly made me think.

I started by stamping AI ‘Any Cake’ set in light grey on a scrap, water coloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut.

On another very small scrap, I added some Texture Paste to make a brick wall.

A stitched circle die cut was water coloured with a sky and green trees/ grass.

The racoons and wall were attached to the circle, once a piece was removed from the side and trimmed to fit.

As the DP was smaller than the card front, a section was cut from the bottom. The top section was then added to the card front with black and red strips.  From the smaller section, Winnie & Walter – ‘Cheers’ was die cut and attached to the bottom.

The circle was added to the side.

To finish 3 balloons were added, cut from colourful scraps (SSS – Celebration Time dies), with gold thread attached and held by the racoons.

I was happy with the result and I hope you were too.  Great to use some of the scraps that lie around.

Please go from here over to our blog and check out the great work from our Design Team.  I hope you will join in our challenge this week.

Thanks so much for visiting

Celebrate – Black & White Background

P1070847

Hello again

I  saw Jennifer McGuire showcasing the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder Stencil and thought it would be a great way to get more use out of the smaller stamps I have.

It arrived last week and when W&W’s World Card Making Day Challenge was to create a black and white background, I thought it was the perfect time to test it out. I wasn’t exactly sure how it would work out, but I just went with it and was thrilled with the results.  It certainly does make it easy to use your stamps in a very different way.

I used Winnie & Walter  Stamp sets – Party Hangover, Big Bang Confetti and Party On  adding the word ‘party’ from a little Verve set I had.

The sentiment stacked die cut uses W& W – The Big, The Bold and Party Cutaways  and the stamps from the card. It involves 3 white layers, a black, the offset with a white, a black and finally a white with black stamping.  It looks more effective IRL.

Welcome

When I saw the Winnie & Walter Challenge for World Card Making Day, WCMD 2018 | Coordinating Die Coloring Challenge with Kelly I decided to give it a go. It required a stamp with a matching die, to create a mask for ink blending.

As I only have a couple of these sets, my choice of  Altnew’s Build-A-Flower: Anemone Coronaria stamp set was an easy decision. I stamped the flower and blended it using Memento Angel Pink Ink.   I restamped the images once they had been inked, so they stood out a little more.  Some random inked dots from W&W – Ring the Celebration stamp set finished the panel.

Once this was finished, I cut the panel with MFT Die-namics Pierced Rectangle Frame.  I then layered up the frame with fun foam before attaching all the pieces to the card front.

The focal flowers was also stamped and watercoloured with Angel Pink ink before being fussy cut and layered up on the corner of the frame.

The Sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways was cut from white card then white heat embossed to add some shine. This was added to a strip of vellum and then the card front. Last were a few bling features.

It is so soft and delicate IRL and I think it shows off these pretty flowers perfectly.

Celebrate Fabulous You!

P1070841Welcome

Tonight’s card makes me smile! It’s such a tribute to friendship!

I coloured the Art Impressions image with copics and added lots of little glittery finishes to add to the fun feel.

The DP is from a pad I picked up from Aldi.  Love the bright colours!

The camera came from another cheap set and was heat embossed in Ranger Black Sparkle, as were the words from MFT Make a Wish stamp set.

The die cut is another MFT  from Absolutely Fabulous set, cut once in white and the second in silver glitter paper and glued together leaving a slight shadow effect.

The star and 10 use MFT Magical Memories die set.

I hope it brings you a smile too.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day

P1070834Hello and welcome to my second card for World Card Making Day.

A strip of washi tape finishes the card.

Circle of Birthday Hugs

P1070831Welcome

I hope you have enjoyed World Card Making Day!

Here’s the card I’ve been playing with today.

It features MFT Floral Fantasy Background stamped and white heat embossed on the front panel.  After drawing a circle around a section of the pattern, the inner areas were water coloured using a mix of inks. When finished, I erased the line and added clear Wink of Stella over the flowers.

The glitter Winnie & Walter die cut ‘hugs’ and MFT heat embossed ‘birthday’ (from Birthday Bears set) finishes this CAS card.

    Special mention-1

Welcome

This week Gail is hosting our first challenge for October –  WWC190 – Gail’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.
Image may contain: one or more people and text For this week’s card, I used  The Ton – Butterfly Swirl die to cut butterflies across the corners of the card front.

After creating a background piece by smooching Oxide Inks and flicks of gold acrylic paint, I used the panel behind the cut outs as well as cutting 2 of the larger butterflies from the die to add to the top.

The panel was then attached to some gold card before adding it to the card front.

The Die-namics – Absolutely Fabulous word die was cut from black card and then the bottom half was gold heat embossed. It was then attached across  the card front.

To finish, I added some small gold butterflies from Memory Box Butterfly Delights die and the 2 butterflies cut from the background, after adding some gold edges and folding the wings.
