WWC198 – Gail’s “All About Holidays” Challenge

It’s time for the next Challenge  over at Watercooler Wednesday.  This week it’s Gail’s “All About Holidays” Challenge.  As Christmas is so close, I’m sure we’ll see lots of wonderful entries!
Image may contain: text My card this week is another Christmas card to add to the growing stack.

It features a wood mount stamp from Hampton Art that I picked up a few years ago.  I love the idea of doves / birds on a  Christmas card.  The image was gold heat embossed  on a panel cut using MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitch Square STAX.  It was watercoloured using Delicata Golden Glitz ink and Wink of Stella gold.  This gives it a wonderful glitter and shine that is just too hard to photograph!  😦

The panel was added to a square featuring Craft Concepts – Christmas Vine EF,  a gold square and then to the card front.

The sentiment is another favourite oldie from Print Blocks.

Thanks so much for visiting.

I hope you will visit our blog for some more great inspiration. I look forward to checking out the entries.

Thank you (Paru’s Card Challenge)

Hello and welcome

I’m thrilled to have been invited to be a Guest Designer for the wonderful Paru’s Card Making  Challenge for November!

The theme for November is ‘Thank You’, so I am sharing a card and a tag.

Tonight’s card features Altnew’s “Beautiful Day” stamp set which I have fussy cut after water colouring using Distress Ink. I love the idea of a simple monochromatic look to the image. It contrasts so well with the simple black and white background.

The black background section was cut using MFT Dienamics – Stitched Basic Edges.

The sentiment is Winnie & Walter –  The Big, The Bold and You die set.

The tag uses one of my all time favourite Penny Black wood mount stamp – Angel News.  It was one of my first stamps.

After water colouring with a combination of Distress Ink and Tombow pens, it was fussy cut and Wink of Stella added for some shimmer.

The tag was cut using MFT Die-namics  Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX and then dry embossed with Craft Concepts – ‘In Stitches’ EF.

The circle die uses Cuttlebug ‘Swiss Dots’ EF, then attached to the fancy circle die cut, (Unfortunately, I don’t remember where it is from), which was added to the tag with raised tape, along with the Angel.

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

To finish, I added some sheer ribbon to the top.

I love how this tag came together.  I hope you do too.

Please head back to Paru’s blog to check out all the great inspiration and join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by

Have a great weekend

WWC197 – Kath’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. This week it’s  Kath’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge.  So hopefully, you’ll find the time to join in.

Image may contain: one or more people and textLike many crafters, I have ended up with quite a few rolls of washi tape in my stash.  So when I saw Art Impressions challenge required washi tape, I then had to decide how best to use it.

I decided to die cut 3 stars using MFT Die-namics – Star STAX and cover them with strips of tape added them to the card front, along with a strip of tape down the side.

After watercolouring and fussy cutting images from Art Impressions – Kangaroo Mouthful Stamp Set, they were added to the card front.

I must admit, I was really pleased with how bright card the card turned out.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Don’t forget to check out the great cards the other Design Team members have added to out blog.

WWC196 – Heidi’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

Hello and welcome

It’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Artists’ Club.

This week Heidi is our hostess for our “All About Occasions” Challenge.

Image may contain: text that says "Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding, Baptism, Birth, Thanks, Sympathy, Retirement, Congrats, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's, St. Patricks Day, Hallowe'er en WWC196 - Heidi's "All About Occasions" Challenge"
For my card, I played with a new Poppy stamp from Gina K Design set – ‘Through Thick and Thin’.  I just love poppies and have always enjoyed painting them.
I started with a panel cut using Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangle Dies.
The base painting used a combination of Tombow Pens and Distress Ink markers.  When dried, I repainted with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder – Lava Red.  This gives the flower a lovely shimmery, metallic look.
I used  Ranger Copper Embossing Powder to heat emboss the flower centre and sentiment from Honey Bee ‘Smile’ stamp set. I love this sentiment for a special birthday card.

This picture shows the lovely shimmer a little better (I hope!)  So pretty IRL!

Thanks so much for visiting. Please head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.  I look forward to seeing your take on the challenge!

I hope you can enjoy some crafting time

Happy Birthday Layered Scene

I would like to thank Art Impressions for selecting my card for an Honourable Mention.

Welcome back

Tonight, I’ve had some fun playing with Art Impressions Circlet Mini Tryfolds – Birthday Circlet. I love to play and see how I can change up the original stamp.

To begin, I stamped the 2nd and 3rd layer on some card and copic coloured using bright colours, then restamped in Brilliance Lightning Black Ink and fussy cut.  I also restamped the birthday banner so it could be raised up in the front.

Next was die cutting Winnie & Walter The Part Confetti Cutaway and some small balloons from SSS Celebration Time set. These were also copic coloured.

The card base is WeR Memory Keepers EF and the window uses SSS Stitched Squares and was raised.

The window, cake and balloons were all attached with raised tape. The balloons, streamers, cake, candles and presents have some Wink of Stella added, along with some Cloud9 Design Rain Dots.

I was really happy with this bright, happy, fun card.  I hope you do too.

Thanks so much for visiting

WWC195 – Charlotte’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Hello and welcome

It’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week it’s Charlotte’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge!
Image may contain: one or more people and textThis week, I watercoloured  Altnew’s Springtime Azalea set.  After colouring, I added some of the details with the layered stamps and then fussy cut them. I did add some clear Wink of Stella for a bit of shine but it doesn’t show well in the photo.

The flowers were arranged around the circle die cut from a stitched die cut panel. Dark green cardstock was added to the back leaving a small border.

The sentiment from Honey Bee Love You stamp and Altnew  Adore You set were gold heat embossed in the circle.

This set is one of my favourites and so easy to work with.

I hope you will visit our blog to see the wonderful creations from our Design Team and to link up your creation.  Good luck!

Happy crafting

Harvest Berries – Thank You

Hello and welcome

After visiting Papertrey Ink  Make It Monday with Dawn McVey, I’ve had some fun playing with some acrylic paints (Kaisercolour – Sea Breeze and Silver) to create the background for this card, as well as a strip for the sides.

The next thing was to stamp Papertrey Ink Harvest Berries onto die cut white card. First in Delicata Silver ink and the second silver heat embossed.

A stitched strip using Paper Rose die was then heat embossed with the sentiment from an old There She Goes Stamp set – Sweet Pea.

The die cut leaves were then arranged above and below the strip using various heights of raised tape.

This panel was then attached to the background and card front and finished with some gems.

I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  I took some photos at various angles to try to show the lovely sheen the whole card has.

Thanks so much for visiting

Have a great week

Tomorrow’s Forecast

I am thrilled to add that my card was chosen as an Honourable Addict over at Addicted to Stamping and More. Thanks so much!

Hello and welcome

Welcome to the November Watercolour Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. Each month we have a fun twist for you to use if you wish or it can just be a free anything goes watercolour.  This month the twist is ‘Get Well’.

My card is a little different as it features 4 umbrellas from Flourishes stamp set – April Showers. These were stamped again on scrap card and watercoloured using various inks and pens, and then fussy cut.

The background was washes on Distress Inks and is very pale.  Unfortunately, it was difficult to photograph well, but is lovely and soft IRL. 😦   I also ligjhtly stamped some small dots in matching colours.

This panel was then added along with a strip of watercoloured card and a strip of Couture Creations Fretboard EF.  The coloured umbrellas are then attached along with a double tag.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I stamped another umbrella in pink over the tag for added interest.

There are lots of great inspiration from our wonderful design team over on our blog. I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
