WWC201 – Marsha’s Special Two-Week Year End Anything Goes

Update: I was lucky enough to be selected for an Honourable Mention from The Flower Challenge – December. Thanks so much!

Hello Friends

Welcome to our last challenge for 2018, over at Watercooler Wednesday! As we are all busy with Christmas and New Year,  Marsha’s Special Challenge is Two-Week Year End Anything Goes!
No automatic alt text available.

This week, I decided to play with a CAS one layer card after all the layers in last week’s card!

I started by stamping an old favourite – Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers Poinsettias in the middle of a piece of card, cut to the size of my card front. After some measuring to ensure the tags were evenly spaced, I cut 3 tags using a Nesting Tag die from a local craft store.

I then removed the stamped tags and watercoloured them using Distress Inks.

For a little relief and interest, I used the 3 dot clusters from Papertrey Ink  Harvest Berries set instead of leaves, and the large dot where the tie for a tag would go.

The front panel was attached to the card front and the tags replaced to finish the image. I used a  Verve Stamps – Glad Tidings sentiment in green at the bottom.

I was really pleased with the way this one turned out.  I hope you like it too.  So simple and easy!

We would love to see what you create over the next couple of weeks!  Please check out our blog for more inspiration.

Wishing you a very safe and happy Christmas and a very happy and healthy 2019!

Thanks so much for visiting and your support over the last year.  I really appreciate you taking the time to  comment.

WWC200 – Helen’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

Hello and welcome

I am thrilled to host this very special challenge!  So lucky!!!! This week is an  All About Occasions Challenge!  So much to choose from!

Still in the middle of Christmas cards, I decided to change things up a bit!

My Christmas card features Art Impressions ‘Udderly Fantastic Set’  I thought it would be great fun to see those cows enjoying the Christmas season! They’re not traditional Christmas but in this scene, they fit so well with the celebrations! Don’t you agree?

After Distress water colouring and adding Wink of Stella ( gold and clear), they were fussy cut.

The window frame is from Mama Elephant.  The sky behind was a scrap from my box  the Santa and sleigh (from an old cheap wood block stamp) added. It was then attached to the background paper on the card front.

The tree was another one of my earliest wood block stamps, which was water coloured, fussy cut, and had gel pen ornaments added. It was then attached with foam tape.

The banner is an old Papermania Urban Stamp set – ’12 Days of Christmas’, fussy cut and added across the window with foam tape. The holly at the ends is from a mini set from Docrafts – ‘Christmas Cake’ and  fussy cut. The same was used for the cow’s head dress.

The other cow had a Santa hat added – again an old wood block stamp by a local girl.

An old wood block present stamp was coloured and cut up to get 2 presents for under the tree.

The pierced MFT rectangle frame had fun foam added and attached to the scene.

Finally, the dancing cows were added, again with foam tape.

Such a long post! Sorry!

I  hope my card brings a smile to your day!

Please be sure to visit our blog and for more inspiration from our Design Team. I can’t wait to see what you create for this special challenge!

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a great day!

WWC199 – Tristan’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Hello and welcome

It’s time for our new challenge over at  Watercooler Wednesday!  This week is Tristan’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.  I hope you will join us!
Image may contain: one or more people and text

Christmas is fast approaching… so I decided to feature another Christmas card.  This time using one of may favourite Penny Black images – Fairy Holly.

After stamping she was coloured using Copic markers and fussy cut.  Wink of Stella was added to her sash, shoes, frills and hints on her holly wings. I added glitter to the snow globe followed by Glossy Accents, which was also added to the holly berries. Gold Wink of Stella made the bells shine.

The EF background suits it so well and is from Design Objectives.

After adding my fairy to the card from with raised tape, I added a sentiment from Kaisercraft (another favourite of mine).

Thanks so much for dropping bye. Please head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from our Design Team.

I hope you can enjoy some crafting the week!

Thanks for your kindness – Hero Arts Butterflies

P1070947 Hello and welcome

It’s hard to believe it’s December already!  Of course, that also means a new challenge over at  Watercolour Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. Our fun optional twist for December if you wish is ‘Stencil’.  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

This is not quite the card, I had planned, but I think it turned out ok.

Originally, I had planned to use  water through the stencil to take out the colour from the Distress Ink background.  However, my ink blending was obviously too light to make a difference.  So then it was on to plan B – smooching gold Delicatta ink through the stencil to give the subtle background I was after. The stencil is Memory Box – Butterfly Flutter.

I feel it looked quite effective in the end.

The butterflies (Hero Arts – Antique Engravings and one from Pinkpaislee – Butterfly Garden set) was stamped in black ink, then watercoloured with a mix of Distress Inks and Tombow Pens, then restamped with Brilliance Lightning Black ink to give a shine. Easy enough thanks to my Misti! Each butterfly was then fussy cut and arranged on the die cut card front.

The sentiment from Hero Arts – Thanks Stamp & Cut, was also stamped in Brilliance ink.

The combination of all these elements gives the card a lovely shine IRL. I’m not usre even this close-up shows it.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.  Good luck!
