WWC206 – Anything Goes Challenge

p1080024

Hello and welcome

As there are 5 Wednesday’s this month, we have a special – ” Anything Goes Challenge” over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. So you are free to link up whatever you’re working on! Too easy!!

No photo description available. For my card, this week, I decided to work with the “Less is More” Challenge  sketch without any stamping !!! So unusual!

After measuring the panel to be coloured on my black card panel, I began by carefully  masking the area on the left.

Using a home made stencil on some old clear packaging, I started by colouring white circles randomly using Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink and a sponge dauber, giving a bokeh effect.

Then I recoloured some of the circles with Brilliance Plantinum Planet and Delicata White Shimmer inks.

When I was satisfied with the bokeh panel, I added silver acylic paint splatters before removing the mask and cutting along the RHS.  This RHS panel was then replaced with white card, before mounting the full panel on the card front.

To finish, a silver glitter Winnie & Walter “Cheers” die cut was added to the front.

Thanks for visiting.  I really appreciate all the support.

Please head over to our blog for lots of wonderful inspiration!  Hope to see what you have been creating.

Cheers

Helen

Hello and welcome

At last I’m back into things.  It’s been a topsy turvy few weeks for us since Christmas Eve.  Now, all will hopefully be plain sailing.  It’s time for this week’s challenge over at  Watercooler Wednesday!  Donna is hosting our  “All About Occasions” Challenge.

As the January 26th is Australia Day, I thought it would be the perfect time to try out this set –  Kaisercraft – Open Road clear stamp set.

The focus of my CAS card is the Australian Waratah. It is a large shrub or small tree with this stunning stiff flower.  Found in SE Australia, it is the floral emblem for New South Wales.

My waratah was coloured using Prismacolor pencils, after being stamped on a Spellbinders – Captivating Squares Nestabilities.

The sentiment is a favourite from a There She Goes set – Everyday Greetings.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you get the chance to join our challenge this week.  Be sure to head to our blog for lots of great inspiration.

Cheers

WWC203 – Karen’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

Hello and welcome

Hopefully all is returning to normal after the holidays and you’re ready for this week’s challenge over at  Watercooler Wednesday!  Karen is hosting our  “All About Occasions” Challenge.

Image may contain: text My card is one I made to celebrate a friend’s new house.

I had great fun playing with this great technique I found on Jennifer McGuire’s blog. While not really new, it was new for me.

The technique involves heat embossing and watercolour lifting.  I  changed it up a bit and used Distress inks to ink up the background of a piece of card.

The next step is to stamp and clear heat emboss  a background stamp ( Hero Arts – Leafy Vines Cling) over the inked background.

Now the fun begins!  You  need to lightly wash over the card with water and remove some of the colour from the background.  The colour under the leaves remains bright and glossy as the background fades!

After cutting a section from the card using MFT Die-namics – Homespun Stitch Lines die, it was adhered it to the card front.

After stamping, Distress water colouring and fussy cutting a bird from MFT – Tweet On You,  was added to the top of the sentiment strip ( MFT Homespun Birdhouse Die-namics) with Wink of Stella added.

The last thing was to add die cut birdhouses (Inticutz Secret Garden Collection – 3 letterboxes) covered in Wink of Stella.

Sorry you have had to work through this rather long post.  I hope you can join our challenge this week.  Don’t forget to visit our blog for lots of great inspiration!

Thanks so much for visiting

Have a great week

Cheers

WWC202 – Dawn’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Welcome back

It’s time for the first Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for 2019!  This week is Dawn’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge!
Image may contain: one or more people, text that says "WWC202 Dawn's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge"
Today’s card is a very feminine birthday card.
The cross – stitch flowers are Waffle Flowers – The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery layered flowers. I love the way it reminds me of my days of cross stitching!

I must admit, when I saw this set, I fell in love and after watching a couple of videos, I thought it would be easy.  However, although I’m really pleased with the result, I must say matching the layers is not that easy. I did find that you could cheat a bit and add a couple of stiches with pen, if it seems to be missing.

The card was folded normally, but then a section was removed from the LHS.  The top layer was cut using Spellbinders – Curved Borders Two die and layered over some pale pink card, before being added to the card front. Along the side, I added a strip coloured with the same ink used on the flowers.  The sentiment is from the same flower set.

Just for You

P1030684

Welcome back for 2019!!!!  I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year! May you find peace and happiness!

I’m back with my first card for HLS Watercolour Challenge for January 2019 with an optional twist of TEXTURE! However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

My card features white heat embossed Hero Arts – Design Block Silhouette which then had Distress Ink watercolour background added.

After trimming, the panel was mounted on a pale blue panel and then a larger light blue.

To finish, I added a white ribbon before being added to the card front.

The vertical sentiment, which is an old wood block stamp from a local company.

A heart shaped pin and some small pearls finished the card.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.  Good luck!
