WWC205 – Donna’s “All About Holidays” Challenge

Hello and welcome

At last I’m back into things.  It’s been a topsy turvy few weeks for us since Christmas Eve.  Now, all will hopefully be plain sailing.  It’s time for this week’s challenge over at  Watercooler Wednesday!  Donna is hosting our  “All About Occasions” Challenge.

As the January 26th is Australia Day, I thought it would be the perfect time to try out this set –  Kaisercraft – Open Road clear stamp set.

The focus of my CAS card is the Australian Waratah. It is a large shrub or small tree with this stunning stiff flower.  Found in SE Australia, it is the floral emblem for New South Wales.

My waratah was coloured using Prismacolor pencils, after being stamped on a Spellbinders – Captivating Squares Nestabilities.

The sentiment is a favourite from a There She Goes set – Everyday Greetings.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you get the chance to join our challenge this week.  Be sure to head to our blog for lots of great inspiration.

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. OMGosh I have that stamp set but only used the gumnut stamp. Your inking of that beautiful waratah is breathtaking. Can’t imagine me doing anything as good as yours but ink mine up one day. Such stunning colours here Helen. Love the die frame you used also.

    1. I really appreciate your vey kind comments, Darlene! I’m so pleased you enjoyed your trip Down Under! We are a very lucky country! You were very lucky to see a waratah. Not everyone does! Have a good one! 🙂
