My card this week is a baby card, so I kept the colours soft.

To begin I stamped the buttons border stamp (an old wood block stamp from a local company) on the bottom of a card panel,  watercoloured using Tombow markers, before fussy cutting along the bottom.

Along the bottom of the card front is a  strip of check DP.

The button panel was then attached above the DP, raising the bottom section with tape.

A circle was cut front the same DP and stamped with the sentiment. The tag was also stamped using images from a little cheap set, and edged with pale blue ink.  Both were then added to the front with raised tape.

A larger button with a white twine bow was attached to the end of the tag, and a smaller blue one added to the sentiment on the tag.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit

Hello again and welcome

It’s time for a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. This week is Dawn’s  Masculine “Anything Goes Challenge”.  I hope you will find the time to share something you’ve been working on!

My simple birthday card was created by randomly stamping all the various leaf stamps I had in my stash using various shades of Memento Inks.  Many were old wood block stamps.

The panel was then trimmed and added to the card front along with the sentiment tag.

The sentiment is from MFT Birthday Greetings Stamp Set. The tag was inked around the edges and then had natural twine tied around the top before being added with raised tape.

To-day’s card is a little different to most of my recent cards, but a style I still love.

I started by stamping Gina K -‘On My Mind and In My Heart stamp randomly being sure some flowers and leaves ran off the edges, using Adirondack caramel ink.

Then using Distress Inks, I used ink blending to colour the flowers. Darker ink around the edges draws the eyes to the centre. I added some pink tones to the flowers and a touch of green to the leaves.

I added a little colouring using a white coloured pencil to highlight the outline of the flowers.

It was then sprayed lightly with Glimmer Mist – Bubbles to give some wonderful shine and interest.  Sadly, it is difficult to see in the photo but it very pretty IRL.

After trimming the panel, 2 of the frames from Altnew Fine Frames Cover Die in black.

Fine sheer ribbon was tied around the panel before adding it to some black card.  Next it was attached to a cream card.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped on a small piece, coloured and added using raised tape.

A small gold embellishment was glued behind the bow.

I hope you like it.

Happy Birthday – Eclipse (HLS – Dies)

Hello and welcome

Welcome back to an new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – June.  I hope you’ll join in the fun this month!

My card is a simple design featuring heat embossing of this little Scottie dog in black and white on the red card. The little dog came from a cheap  stamp set from Aldi.

To overcome the problems of black heat embossing, I stamped first in black and then in clear embossing powder.

The cared front was then cut with the Stitched Rectangle Die.

The MFT Happy die was cut from the card front, before attaching it to a white card front.  Three more die cuts were also made and layered into the card front for the eclipse technique.

The ‘birthday’ sentiment from MFT was stamped on white card and added below the die cut.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!  Good luck with your entries!

My card was inspired by Winnie & Walter’s Colour Challenge, which has such lovely colours.

I started by ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks and then spraying it lightly with some Glimmer Mist.  The panel has the most gorgeous sparkle, but unfortunately it doesn’t show on the photo!  😦

After trimming to size, I added die cut words from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold Cutaways Sets in black card and adhering it to the card front.!

Next I stamped the leafy image from Altnew’s World’s Best Dad stamp set in black ink.

The panel was then adhered to a black panel before being added to a white card.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Hello and welcome

Today I’m sharing a birthday card I made for a very special person.  I used the challenge over at Time Out as my inspiration.

I started by stamping and gold heat embossing The Ton – Daisy Duet flowers and watercoloured them with Zig Clean Colour Markers, before fussy cutting.

The background is the Altnew Leaf Frame Cover Die.

The sentiment is Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold Cutaways!

Thanks so much for visiting.  I really appreciate your time.

Have a good week and see you next time.

Celebrate Your Special Day – Floating Frame

P1080203 (2)

Hello and welcome

After I watched some YouTube clips on  Floating Die Cut Frames ( Jennifer McGuire),  I decided I’d like to give it a try.  So when I saw the challenge over at Laurie’s Ink to Paper Challenge asked to frame a sentiment, I thought it would be the perfect project!

I grabbed one of my favourite stamp/ die sets – Harvest Berries from Papertrey Inks and away I went.

I started by die cutting the images before stamping them with a variety of green inks from Altnew and Memento.

After stamping my sentiment, from MFT Birthday Greetings set,  in the centre front of the card using Brilliance Lightning Black ink, it was just a matter of arranging the die cuts around the sentiment.  I chose not to cut out the centre, but rather allow the dies to form a natural frame.

Each die cut was added with a small foam square and trimmed along the edge of the card!

To finish, I added a few strokes of clear Wink of Stella to each leaf and some red Nuvo Drops. So difficult to see the little sparkle on each leaf which is so pretty IRL!

P1080205 (2)I was really happy with the end result!

Thanks so much for visiting.  I really appreciate your time.

Have a great week

Cheers
