Hello and welcome

Here we are – already at the end of January! As this month has 5 Wednesdays it’s a chance for a special Watercooler Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.
No photo description available.Today, I decided to play with Art Impressions challenge – Animal Print, I couldn’t resist pulling out my well loved AI Udderly Fantastic Set.

I started by cutting a card front with the largest Lawn Fawn flap in the centre.

After drawing some cow print around the opening, I stamped the sentiment from the set. That panel was then added to the card front.

P1080277 (2)

On a separate piece of I stamped the seated cow and cake from AI Birthday Circlet MFT and watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut them. I masked off the writing on the mug in the cow’s hand.

The cake was added to the front with raised tape and the cow was glued inside.

The second sentiment was white heat embossed along with a speech bubble on black card, fussy cut and added above the cow.

A balloon from SSS Celebration Time balloon dies was coloured and stamped with the third sentiment, before being attached inside the flap.  I drew in a string to finish.
P1080270 (2)I hope my cheeky card made you smile! I love using animals on my cards as I always think you can give animals such amazing character.

This week, I decided to add to my Christmas card stash.

I love this Docraft’s Papermania at Christmas stamp set, which I haven’t used for a while.

I started by stamping the chair in Distress Ink and then watercoloured it using Distress Markers.

The image was then cut using MFT -Die-namics Jumbo Fishtail Banners.

I stamped the sentiment using Candied Apple distress ink which I cut into a mini tag. The same ink was added around all the edges.

An EF was used on the red background card.

The layers were added to the card front with raised tape on the sentiment tag.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

I’m back to share a 2nd birthday card I made recently.  I decided I wanted an interactive card, so I revisited Jennifer McGuire’s video on making a Shadow Box Card. It was great fun to play with so many different elements and bring it all together.  I was so happy when it turned out to be the ‘fun’ card I had wanted!

To begin I had to create the shadow box.  So easy when you follow the instructions. I chose to cut the window using a scalloped rectangle from Spellbinders Nestabilities. (One of my first die sets!)

To create the back panel for my window, I used some very basic ink blending, added a few splatters for interest and then stamped random leaf images along the bottom using a mix of green Memento inks. (The leaves were from little cheap stamp sets).

This panel was then added to the back section and the box construction was completed.

I had also stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut the images from MFT Jungle Gym stamp set.  As I wanted some movement in my card, I cut the tiger away form the main image.

Because the branch was quite thin, I added extra plain card strips to the back for added strength, before tying some green thread around the tiger and attaching it to the branch to form a swing! (Just check it is the right length so it will swing!)

P1080098

The branch was then glued across the top section of the opening.

To make it feel a bit more like a jungle, I cut several leaves from MFT Leaf dies and watercoloured them, before they were added randomly around and just inside the window.

This is the view when you open the card.  P1080090

Now it was time finish the card front.  To begin I die cut SSS Stitched Whirl Background on a panel to be added to the front along with a small scalloped rectangle (to match the inside).  This had been watercoloured to  look like the sky and grass and stamped with small grass images from AI  Foliage Set – 4051, and had the monkey on the slide image added.

To complete the front, I cut Echo Park Happy Birthday Banner Die from DP along with a ‘2’ from MFT Die-namics numbers die set.

Sorry this has been such a long post, but I hope this card brings you a smile and that you will try one of these interactive cards.  I know I will but maybe a little simpler than this one!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

This week my card features Penny Black – Slapstick – Thinking with Stamps, Sunflowers!

I played around with the colouring this time.  I started by watercolouring using Altnew Watercolours, then added some Distress Inks.  I didn’t feel the flowers showed up enough on the white background as I was doing no line colouring. So then I brought out my Prismacolor pencils to add more depth.  I finished with some white highlights using a white Sigmo pen.

I had been planning a sort of CAS card. So when I still wasn’t happy with the leaves, I decided to frame the flowers with a circle die cut from the 2 largest circles in my set. I then marked off where the circle met the petals and fussy cut them to fall over the frame.

The sentiment is from Uniko !  I love this script.

I hope you like the finished card.

P1080252 (2).JPG Hello and welcome

I’m here tonight to share a Sympathy card I made featuring Hero Florals Rose Stem stamped on watercolour paper with a pink Distress marker and watercoloured with Altnew Watercolors, before being fussy cut. I cut off the leaves and buds so I could rearrange them around the banner.

The background is Hero Arts Papel Picado Confetti Die.

The banner was from Paper Rose and stamped with Stampin’ Up Love & Sympathy Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.

I hope you have a wonderful day

P1080247 (2)

Hello and welcome

Welcome back to an new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – June.  I hope you’ll join in the fun this month!

My card today uses some of my scraps from my overflowing box of bits!!!

I started with a larger scrap of DP that I have always loved and added a strip of brown to make it wide enough for the card front.

I then die cut Papertrey Inks Dress Form from an old canvas tag from a pair of jeans, which I added to a piece of heavy card.

The sentiment from MFT Birthday Greetings was stamped in Memento Rich  Cocoa ink. It was covered with a circle cut from a scrap of vellum

A Hero Arts Fancy Die cut in brown was added behind the die cut dress form.

I used another odd scrap to cut the 3 smaller flowers using Papertrey Inks  Bloom Builder 3,  and again with a scrap of vellum.  I layered them onto the dress form for interest and added a gem to finish.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!  Good luck with your entries!

Cheers

Helen

P1080243 (2)

Hello and welcome

It’s time for a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. This week is Marsha’s  “Feminine “Anything Goes Challenge”. So I hope you will find the time to share your work!
Image may contain: one or more people and textMy card is very CAS today and features Penny Black – Effulgence stamp.  I coloured the stamp using Tombow markers direct to rubber using my Misti, which allowed me to restamp until I was pleased with the image.

I added a little clear Wink of Stella on the yellow dots and on the base of the flowers.

The sentiment is from a very old, There She Goes – Everyday Greetings set.

To finish I added some colour around the edge of the panel an  d adding fun foam before adhering it to the card front.

Thinking of You Butterflies – (HLS – Watercolour)

P1080221 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a card for HLS Watercolour Challenge for July 2019 with an optional twist of WINGS!  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

This month, I had fun playing with my Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Dust powders on a piece of watercolour paper. I loved the way you get a sense of movement with the water. I then white heat embossed my butterflies along with the sentiment (Kaisercraft – Greetings).

After trimming, I used Distress Inks, I then added some colour to the butterfly wings to give a little more definition, along with some Wink of  Stella.

To finish, I used Kaisercraft Birch stencil to add some texture paste and  Elizabeth Craft’s Cool Diamond Glitter.
