Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  As October has 5 Wednesday’s, this week it is an “Anything Goes” Challenge.  So no excuses not to join in the fun this week!
No photo description available.

This week, I had fun playing with Penny Black – Magnolia SSS – Believe stamp.  It was interesting to watch the flower come to life as it was restamped with Picked Raspberry and Black Soot Distress Inks.

After adding ink, the stamp was lightly misted with water and stamped on watercolour paper.  The ink is then blended out with a brush. This is repeated until the image is clear and as bold as you wanted.

Extra details were then added with a brush, (especially in the flower centres)

Splatters of black and pink finished the panel.

Altnew – Label Love sentiment was stamped in black ink.

The panel was then added to the card front with strips of black card on each side.

I loved this gorgeous image and the way it came to life.  I hope you do too.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

Cheers

I would like to thank the team over at Art Impressions for selecting my tag for an Honorable Mention!

Hello and welcome

I’m back with the new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week I’m pleased to be hosting the “All About Occasions” Challenge.  So it should be easy for you to join in.

Image may contain: textThis week I decided to make a tag rather than a card.  I was thinking of my friend’s birthday. She loves her garden and I can see it attached to a gift, plant or bunch of flowers.

To begin the images from AI Potting Shed MFT set was stamped, watercoloured using Distress Inks and fussy cut.  The panel was then die cut using MFT Pierced Square STAX.

The die cut door /window from the set was die cut from white card and attached to a scrap of card that had a sky and trees watercoloured, so it appears as though you are looking out of the window to the backyard. This piece was then attached to the back of the shed panel.

The MFT Die-namics Fishtail Banner STAX was used to cut the main background banner which was embossed with a Cuttlebug EF, and a smaller one from DP. This pieced was added to back.  I then cut a top for my tag and added it to the  top along with a piece of raffia.

The sentiment is from Simply Dies.

I was really pleased with the way this one turned out.  I hope you like it too.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

Cheers

Hello and welcome again

What a busy week!

My post tonight is a card I had  lots of fun creating and came together quite quickly!

This  card was inspired by a video from the very talented Therese. (This is the link to her cards that inspired mine:  https://wp.me/p12Y5e-6p2)

Here are some links to her beautiful work! Be sure to check them out.

My card uses Hero Arts – Hero Florals Rose Stems set.

The flower was stamped randomly over the card front before cutting Spellbinders Labels Four Small dies from the centre.  First is was the smallest die followed by the largest.

After discarding the centre,  the frame that was made was copic coloured, first with the pink flowers and then the background in black.

The sentiment was gold heat embossed on another small piece of card and attached to the back of the frame with raised tape.

The stamp panel was added to the card front. Then the raised frame was added to the middle lining up the stamped images.

It was finished with some rhinestones coloured with copic marker to make them match the flowers.

I love the way it turned out!  Thanks Therese!!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

Cheers

This week my card features ‘AI Jolly Carollers’ Stamp Set that I was lucky to win a little while ago. So much fun!!!

I started by stamping the image first with the little snowman missing and then again stamping just the little snowman using Gina K Amalgam Ink.  I added the extra details to finish the new end snowman.

The images were then copic coloured, clear Wink of Stella, Nuvo Glitter Drops and fussy cut.

The background was created with smooches of pink and blue Distress Inks.

Next I used Spellbinders oval die to cut the window in the card front.

After adding clear acetate to the window, I added the row of snowmen and some snow drifts cut from some shimmer paper.

Next was time for raised tape on the back and filling the space with sparkle stars and snowflakes, before adding the background piece.

The whole panel was then added to the card front and stamped with Winnie & Walter Big, Bold Confetti Stamps random ‘spot’ (falling snow) stamps with Delicata White Shimmer Ink to add some shimmer and interest to the front.

Finally, the last little snowman was added to the card front, along with the Sizzix Thinlets ‘joy’ die cut in silver glitter card.

I love how this fun card turned out!  It brings on a smile and of course sooo much sparkle!!!!

WWC241 – Dawn’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

P1080370 (2)

Thanks so much to the Design Team over at Time Out Challenge for selecting my card for Honours at their “Breast Cancer Awareness” Challenge.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week Dawn is hosting the Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.  That gives you lots of scope, so hopefully you’ll find time to share your creations.

WWC241 – Dawn’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Image may contain: one or more people and text

When I looked through some blog posts, I was taken with the Time Out Challenge theme – Breast Cancer Awareness!  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a timely reminder for everyone to check their own breasts. I’m sure this terrible disease has touched the life of someone you know.

So for my card tonight, I decided to play along with this Challenge, with some words of encouragement.

I chose Concord & 9th – Wonderful Florals, starting with gold heat embossing this lovely image.

It was then watercoloured using Altnew Pan Watercolours. The sentiment was covered in 4 layers of Clear Wink of Stella to give a lovely glittery finish, while remaining a simple one layer and not adding any other colours. So pretty IRL!

P1080374 (2)

I selected sentiments to work with the word ‘wonderful’. These are from SSS Beautiful Flowers and Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and Greetings stamp sets and gold heat embossed them at the top and bottom of the image.

The panel was then trimmed and added to  a card front.

I love the simple sentiments on this card and feel they are appropriate for someone going through a difficult time.  I enjoyed making this simple one layer card with beautiful flowers and watercolour.  Most of my cards fit this design, rather than lots of layers and extra additional embellishments.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Summer Sunflowers Notebook (HLS – Watercolour)

P1080326 (2)

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back for a project for HLS Watercolour Challenge for October 2019 with an optional twist of BOTANICAL !  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

I hope you can find time to join in the fun this month!

This month, I have chosen to go with a notebook rather than a card, just for a change.

It was a perfect gift for a friend.

To begin Penny Black – Summer Sunflowers was stamped on a piece of watercolour paper. This is a very old wood block stamp, one of my very first purchases maybe 15 or more years ago. I just like the various elements included in this simple scene. However, it hasn’t seen the light of day for a while! LOL!

The image was watercoloured using a variety of inks.

After trimming, the panel was added to a piece of  light coloured kraft cardstock, before being adhered to the front of the kraft notebook with a neutral button and raffia tie.

P1080328 (2)

I thought it all tied in together perfectly.  The notebook pages are all made of kraft stock as well, giving it all a very natural earthy feel.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.  Good luck!

Thanks so much for visiting. I really appreciate you taking the time.
Happy crafting
Helen
