Hello – (HLS Dies)

P1080460 (2)Hello and welcome

Happy 2020 to you and your family! Welcome back to a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – January.   I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

I had fun creating this card with no stamping!!!!  Only some easy die cuts and a little colouring!! What a change!!

To start, I die cut a heart from some scrap packaging to use as a stencil.  It was then overlayed by my new  brick wall stencil by Clarity Stencils.  It was then only a matter of layering some texture paste over the double stencil in the middle of a piece of card stock.

While it dried, I die cut the SSS Decorated Branch die colouring the branch black and the hearts red, followed by some clear Wink of Stella and then Glossy Accents.

After cutting the panel down and adding a fish tail to the bottom, it was time to layer the branch over the bricks and add the hearts.

Finally, a red check ribbon was added around the top with a small tag.  I couldn’t decide on a sentiment, so simply added the word ‘love’ to the tag.

It was amazing  how quickly it came together!

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!  Good luck with your entries and have a wonderful Christmas and a very safe, happy and healthy 2020!

Double Trouble Paper Crafting

Author: momentsofcrafting

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. wow Helen, this is stunning, you got all the details from the photo in! I especially like that brick wall and the texture this gives to your card. And what an adorable ribbon, all so perfect for the photo. Thanks for joining Time Out

  2. Love the paste embossing brick wall on your heart. The red hearts and plaid ribbon, along with the black branch, just pop against the white background. Beautifully done. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Stinkin’ Inkers and hope you come back and join us again in this challenge and future challenges to see what shenanagins Thing 1, 2 and 3 are up to next challenge.

  3. Wow, such beautiful details you have put on the card, Helen. The colors and the textures look stunning. Thank you for joining us at Time Out challenges. Hugs ~ Ishani.

  4. Such a pretty CAS card! The paste gives such wonderful texture. Thank you for playing along at Double Trouble #47. (Hope you are keeping safe from the terrible fires.)

    1. Thanks so much for your wonderfully kind comments, Melanie! I live in Queensland and so our fires ended before Christmas. We are all praying the rain we are now getting spreads to the fire ravaged areas of southern states and finally ends the fires. Amazing – crippling drought ( almost no rain since this time last year) , fires and now storms and rain causing some local flooding! But we’;; never say no the wonderful RAIN!!! Hoping it fills the dams and reaches the parched areas so desperate for water! We Aussies appreciate all the kindness we have received from all over the world! Amazing and so uplifting! Take care xx 🙂

    1. No worries, Annie! I like to comment too but it seems it usually ends up towards the end of the challenge. Time is always a consideration! Great to have you on our team! I look forward to seeing all your great projects! 🙂 🙂
