WWC260 – Karen’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Karen’s Challenge –Anything with a Feminine Twist.

Today’s card features the beautiful Hero Arts Florals – Nasturtium stamp set.  I love the bright, happy look of nasturtiums with the beautiful rich red, yellow, orange combinations.  I bought this set a couple of years ago, but only used it once (not very successfully!! LOL!!)

After stamping in Distress Ink on watercolour paper,  I coloured them using Altnew – Watercolour Brush Markers for the flowers and Distress Inks for the leaves.

It was then die cut with the matching die.

I took one thin die cut from Altnew – Fine Frames Cover Die in dark green cardstock. Then attached the flowers to fall over the edges of the frame.

I decided to let the flowers take centre stage and keep it CAS.

I stamped the sentiment from There She Goes – Sentimental Birthday in Memento Northern Pine Ink.

This was my first play with Altnew brush markers and loved the vibrancy of the colours.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

This week, I have created a cute interactive card featuring Art Impressions – Frosting Spinner. For full details you can visit Jennifer McGuire’s Z-Fold Spinner card: https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/09/spin.html

I copic coloured, fussy cut the images and ran a black pen around the edges to cover anything that didn’t match perfectly. Of course, I had to add a little Wink of Stella to the cake and party hat!!!

A panel of blue cardstock was stamped with images from Winnie & Walter ‘Ring in the Celebration’ stamp set using VersaMark ink.

Circles were cut using MFT Circle Dies.

The sentiment around the white circle is from MFT ‘Make a Wish’ set.

The white tag sentiment is MFT ‘Celebrate with Cake’.

Today’s project is a card / gift card holder featuring Ai Garden Circlet MTF and AI Watercolour – Open Window stamp sets.

After stamping on a circle of watercolour paper they were watercoloured using Distress Inks and Tombow markers.

It was then mounted on a large Spellbinders – Lacey Circles die cut.

The sentiment is from MFT Birthday Greetings Stamp Set, stamped on a strip and foam mounted.

The card flaps open up and down.  The top flap slightly overlaps the bottom.  A panel of DP was added to some dark brown card.  A raffia bow was attached to the corner with a small brad before the panel was added to the front flap.

The shorter bottom panel folds down to reveal a similar panel to put the gift card.

I added a large circle using the same DP to the centre inside panel to finish.

For a Special Couple (HLS – Dies)

Hello and welcome

Welcome back to a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – January.  I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

Today I’m sharing a card I made for friends of my daughter, who are celebrating their Engagement in a couple of weeks.  It is a very simple card, in line with the invitation they sent.

Starting with smooching Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick and a touch of Dusty Concord) on the front panel, I sprayed with Glimmer Mist for some sparkle when dry. The panel was then attached to the card front. Very pretty IRL!

The Memory Box – Catalina Wreath was cut from kraft cardstock and the Memory Box – Heart Ribbon cut from white card and 2 layers of white Wink of Stella added.

The 2 die cuts were then interwoven and attached to the card front.

The sentiment is from an old JustRite – Wedding Nested Sentiment was stamped in Brilliance Starlite Black Ink.

It came together quite quickly.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!  Good luck with your entries and have a wonderful Christmas and a very safe, happy and healthy 2020!

Cheers

Helen

This week I had fun playing with Hero Arts – Beautiful Day Agapanthus. I love when mine begin to flower.  They are just blooming now.

To begin, I stamped the larger ball flower 3 times using a mask and heat embossing it in a glitter EP.  It’s the remains of an old bottle so sadly, I’m not sure what brand it is.

I used a navy paper with a glittery sheen to it, so lots of shine all over.

The water colouring used Delicata White Shimmer ink pad with a touch of Brilliance Mediterranean Blue near the centres.  This made for super quick colouring with great results!

Next the panel was fussy cut along the RHS.  From the offcut, a strip was cut to use along the edge of the back of the card. The flower panel was then attached to some fun foam to layer it up before being attached  to a scrap strip of glittery white card stock.

The card was folded so the front is shorter leaving a 2cm wider card back.

A sentiment from Penny Black – Sprinkles and Smiles sentiment set along a  strip of vellum, which was then folded over the front panel to attack it, before this  section was added to the card front.

Along the edge of the back panel, the navy strip was added along with a very narrow strip of white glitter paper.

I love the sparkle and shine on this card, which was really quite quick to make.

I hope these extra close up photos show the shine and the extended card back.

IMG_0703 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m back with another challenge over at  HLS Watercolour Challenge for February, 2020 with the fun  optional twist of BLING!  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

To begin I stamped this watercolour floral,  featuring Concord & 9th – Hello Lovely, in light ink  up in the top left corner of my panel, ready for no – line water colouring with Distress Inks. I chose a warm colour palette with shades of yellow, orange and pale red for the flowers.  I love these warm, sunny, happy colours which make you feel happy with a warm feeling!! Like a warm day!

The panel was then trimmed to fit a square card front.

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant – Hello Friend Wishes in Brilliance Lightning Black Ink for a little added sparkle!

To finish, I added some small coloured gems to give that essential bling to the card! LOL! Sadly, it is difficult to see it all in the photo, so hopefully it’s clearer in this close up!
