Hello and welcome

Unbelievable – another post!!! You can tell I’m at home!!

Tonight’s post is a card from playing with AI Clay Pot stamp set.  I haven’t used this one as yet, so it was fun to play.  It was watercoloured with Distress Inks on water colour card.

At the end I cut the panel with STAMPlorations Wonky Rectangle Die.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe and I hope you can have a good week!!!

Cheers

Hello and welcome

Tonight I’m sharing a fun card I made this week, playing with House Mouse – Monica stamp by Stampendous!

I am working on my CAS cards. So I thought this cute little mouse would be fun to use.

After stamping in black amalgam ink, I watercoloured using Tombow Pens and and Zig markers.

I felt the parasol was a little plain and decided to make it look slightly oriental look by adding clear Wink of Stella and then some Glitter Gelly Roll pen.

More pen was added to the movement marks. It looks so pretty IRL!

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant- Mini Messages.

Please take care in these uncertain times.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week I’m thrilled to be hosting the challenge –Anything with a Feminine Twist.

Image may contain: text

I decided this week to play with some inks to see what effects I could get using blue, green and purple. I tried 3 different  types – Distress Inks, Brilliance Inks and Cosmic  Shimmer Pixie Powders.

I also tried, smooching the colour and dipping the cardstock into the colour.

Once the pieces were dry, I decided I loved the first and last. I had used Perfect Pearls water to mix with the Distress Inks to give a little shimmer.

I then cut Altnew’s leafy Garland Die from both panels.

I cut the card front panel and smooched the same Distress Inks on the front.

Using Altnew’s Fine Cover Frames, I used 3 of the frames.  2 were covered with Wink of Stella Silver. These were glued to a white panel with the largest being the outside edge.

I stamped the simple sentiment from the Altnew wonderland Stamp Set in black Brilliance Lightning Black Ink.

After layering this panel onto the card front, I added the 2 die cut garlands so they crossed over, with the darker Pixie Powders piece at the back for depth.

It is difficult to see, but the garland and background have a lovely shimmery look.

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a reminder for the current Penny Black Saturday Challenge! This month the theme is Anything Goes (optional Think Spring).  I hope you have the chance to join in the fun!

My card features no-line watercolouring of PB Magnolia Rhapsody using Distress Inks and my misti. When dry, I added a  little Inktense pencils for extra detail.

The panel was then given a stitched die cut edge.

CUTplorations ‘Birthday’ die was used to cut the word at the bottom of the panel along with 3 others in white. These were adhered together before being glued back into the flower panel.

This finished panel was then layered to kraft and green card stock before being added to the card front.

I seldom make any Easter cards, but love to use lots of flowers on my cards. Spring flowers make me happy and make life beautiful!

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Marsha’s Challenge – All About Occasions.

Image may contain: text

Today’s card features flowers from Altnew – Adore You Stamp set. They were stamped and  no-line watercoloured with Distress Inks, before being fussy cut.

The SSS – Quadrangle Frames Die was cut and coloured with bronze acrylic paint, as was the Simply Dies – Hello.

It was then just a matter of gluing the elements to the card front.

I don’t make a lot of CAS cards, but I was happy with this with it’s soft, delicate flowers.

It’s Your Birthday? (HLS Dies)

IMG_0825 (2)

Hello and welcome

It’s time for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – March.   As always, anything goes in this challenge. So, I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

I had fun playing with Hero Arts – Alpaca – stamp and die set.  This was the first time to use this fun set.

The images were stamped and copic coloured before being die cut.

Using MFT – Stitched Mod Square STAX a centre was cut in the front panel.  Another was cut in a piece of fun foam, which was added to the back after attaching a piece of acetate.

After adding some bright shaker elements, the front panel was added to card front.

The alpaca was added to the front of the shaker window with raised tape and the other elements arranged around it.

On a scrap piece of card, I randomly added copic colours before using MFT – Zig Zag dies. These strips were attached to the top and bottom of the card.

I love the bright, happy neon colours which bring these images to life.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

IMG_0821 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m thrilled to be here as a new member of the wonderful Penny Black Saturday Challenge!! I have always loved Penny Black stamps and they were some of the very first stamps I ever bought (and I still use those wood block stamps!)

As it’s the first Saturday of the month, it’s time for a  new challenge – March – Anything Goes (Optional ‘Think Spring’).

My card features the PB – Aviary stamp, which is new for me.  I love bird houses and felt that with the pots and birds it said “Spring”.

After stamping the image, I watercoloured using Tombow Markers and Distress Inks.

After trimming, I added it to a long card covered with DP and a strip of hessian ribbon.

I wanted to let the image remain centre stage.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge!

WWC261 – Kath’s Challenge: Anything Goes With a Feminine Twist

IMG_0812 (2)

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Kath’s Challenge –Anything with a Feminine Twist.

Image may contain: one or more people, possible text that says 'AART WWC261 Kath's Challenge: Anything Goes With a Feminine Twist'

I had lots of fun playing with Hero Arts – ‘ My Monthly Hero’ January 2019, this week!

I had decided to use a bike as a focus on my card, but wanted to try for a non- obtrusive background. For that reason I stamped the shop front in grey and used grey scale copics to add some details.

The bike and pots were stamped, die cut and copic coloured and then arranged to make the scene.  I did trim a little more off the bottom of the die cut flowers.

I did add one pot from a very old Hero Arts – ‘Flower Garden Border’  wood block stamp, which I coloured and fussy cut.

The Sentiment  Hero Arts – ‘Beautiful Day Agapanthus’ was white heat embossed on black.

IMG_0810 (2)Inside I added another old wood block stamp from Hero Arts.

I  was happy with the way this card came together.

Happy Birthday (HLS- Watercolour)

IMG_0801 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m back with another challenge over at  HLS Watercolour Challenge for March, 2020 with the fun  optional twist of FLOWERS!  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

This week, I was playing with Altnew’s  Build-A-Flower: Cattleya.

After stamping in Gina K’s Obsidian Ink, I watercoloured with Altnew inks, before die cutting with the co-ordinating die.

The background used Clarity Stencils – Abstract Squares inked in Hero Arts – Charcoal Ink with  blending brushes.

Simply Dies _ Happy Birthday  was die cut and inked to match the background.

The flowers were then attached to the background.

Quite a quick and simple card, but I think the background really brings it to life.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!
