I am thrilled to thank Gina K – Monthly Mix Challenge – Spring Fling!  Thank you so much.  I really appreciate my card being chosen from the wonderful links.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our special 5th week challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! As always the 5th  week  is an – Anything Goes Challenge! So here’s your chance to show us what you’ve been creating!!

No photo description available.

This week, I’ve been playing with Gina K’s – On My Mind and In My Heart stamp which I watercoloured using Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colours with some Prismacolor details. These were then fussy cut.

On another piece of card I stamped MFT Pinstripe background stamp in black. This was then cut using MFT – Stitched Basic Edges die, before being added to the card front.

In the lower corner one of the sentiments from the Gina K set was gold heat embossed.

The flowers were then added to the front, some with raised tape.

I love this combination on black white and gold!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Stay safe and have a good day

Hello and welcome

I hope you are all staying safe and well and managing to do some crafting.

As I was looking through some papers where I had played with some different inks and watercolour techniques.

I found this one that was quite bright, so I thought it was perfect for the bokeh effects. I had a stencil I had made previously and used Hero Arts White ink to add the circles. By the next morning, much of the ink had sunk into the watercolour paper, so I added some more circle using just the end of the ink dauber.

I decided to use it to join the Newton’s Nook challenge and downloaded a freebie, which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

After layering 2 pieces of vellum over a piece of white card, I added it to the centre to make the background for this cute little bird!

I added layers of Wink of Stella over the balloon.

The heat embossed sentiment is from Altnew – Label Love set.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Cheers

Helen

Hello and welcome

I hope you are all staying safe and well and managing to do some crafting.

This time I was playing with Hero Arts – Real Flowers Vintage stamp and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.

After inking the stamp, I sprayed with Perfect Pearl water before stamping on a piece of watercolour paper.

It was stamped  a few times as well as  with a 2nd generation stamping until I was happy with the way it looked. (Sometimes I only used part of the stamp.)

After trimming down the panel, the sentiment from Hero Arts – Special Note of Thanks set was stamped before adhering the panel to the card front.

I love the colour and lovely shimmer IRL.  I hope you can get some idea from this close up shot.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Dawn’s Challenge – All About Occasions.

Image may contain: text

Today’s card features Pink Fresh’s Partial Cut Floral Frame.

I started by gold  heat embossing the stamp set and watercolouring with Distress Inks.

The flowers were then fussy cut.

The card front had ink smooching with splatters of blue, pink and yellow.

The sentiment from Pink Fresh – Floral Frame was gold heat embossed.

A gold frame was cut using Fancy That dies.

The flowers were then arranged to look as though they were falling out of the frame. Some were added with raised tape for dimension.

To finish, I added some Nuvo Drops.

Sadly, I wasn’t happy with the way it photographed as it always looks dull!  It is really quite soft and pretty IRL!  😦

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Hello and welcome

Today I had fun playing with watercolour washes.

For this card, I cut a piece of watercolour paper with MFT Blue Prints 26 Die.

I decided to try using Zig colour markers for the colour medium.

After adding a good water layer over the panel, I added colour with more water to make layers suitable for a scene background.  This one has a faint rainbow in the sky.

Once dry, I stamped the ground silhouette stamp from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero – May 18 set along the bottom.  The silhouette of the tree and children from A Simply Dies – Reading Tree die set as then glued in place.

As  the tree was  bare, I  stamped leaf images from the HA set to the branches.

The sentiment was also from the same HA set finished the card.

I was really happy with the way it turned out.  I’m a big fan of silhouette images.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a reminder for the current Penny Black Saturday Challenge! This month the theme is Anything Goes (option ‘Ribbon or Twine’ ).  I hope you have the chance to join in the fun!

Today’s card features the beautiful PB Thinking of You stamps- Butterfly.  I love the bright, happy colours of tulips.  I just wish my orange tulips looked more orange and less like the red ones! 😦  They are a little better IRL!

After is was watercoloured, I trimmed the panel to have a partial rectangle with the tulips falling off the side.

This was added to some kraft card, before being added to a green panel stamped with Versamark Ink using PB – All Over Pattern.

The sentiment is from PB – Sprinkles and Smiles set.

To finish, I added the fussy cut butterfly using raided tape and a twine bow.\

I hope my card brings you a sunny smile.

Please head over to our blog to  check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

WWC267 – Karen’s Challenge: Anything Goes With a Masculine Twist

IMG_0931 (2)

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Karen’s Challenge – Anything Goes With a Masculine Twist.

Image may contain: text

This week I had lots of fun playing with Lawn Fawn goodies!

To begin the small animal images from the LF – For You Deer and Low Down and Enjoy sets were stamped and copic coloured, before being fussy cut.

From a white panel, MFT – Stitched Mod Square STAX smallest die was cut 4 times. These die cuts were then coloured with Distress Inks using inking brushes and then sprinkled with water.

The animals were then added to look as though they were looking out of the windows, before the coloured sections were added back in place.

This panel was then added to yellow card and then to some stripe DP and the card front.

Extra elements were die cut with LF Mini Box and Scalloped Box dies.

Small sentiments were stamped from various LF sets and added to each coloured panel.

It was lots of fun making this fun, bright, cheerful card.  I love working with animal images as they are so easy to colour and use in so many designs.  I hope it brings you a smile.

Hello (HLS Dies)

Hello and welcome

It’s time for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – April.   As always, anything goes in this challenge. Perhaps you’ve a little more crafting time right now so, I hope you’ll find time to join in the fun this month!

I have been trying to clear up my craft room now I’m at home and have come across lots of goodies, I’d forgotten about!

After creating an alcohol ink background, I cut Memory Box – Delightful Peony Outline Die from white card. Sadly, my background looks so much darker and dull than IRL! 😦 It is really light with pretty colour variations.

After attaching, I added a strip of vellum to the front, along with the Memory Box – Hello die cut from gold card.

The panel was then layered on black and Kraft cardstock before adding it the front.

It was finished with some black Nuvo Drops.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Heidi’s Challenge – All About Occasions.

Image may contain: text

This week I decided to use some pretty Cosmic  Shimmer Pixie Powder panels I had made.  I loved the shine on this main panel and decided to keep it whole.

The other scrap piece, I used to stamp Lawn Fawn’s Fortune Teller stamp, fussy cutting the table and bandana.

I stamped the main image once more on white card and coloured the cat and ball with Distress watercolour and gold Wink of Stella for the ball base.

Next the table cloth and bandana was glued onto the image.

After stamping the sentiment on the ball, it was covered with Glossy Accents and sprinkled with some fine glitter.

The image was fussy cut and added to a Stitched tag die from Paper Roses, and SSS Stitched Whirl Background Die. The edges were had a little Distress Ink added, before the image was attached and the sentiment stamped.

A starry ribbon was added to the top.

It was then just a matter of adding a slit towards the top of the front panel so the book mark could be slid onto the front.

IMG_0890 (2)I think it is the perfect card to send out with a little bonus pressie attached.

Number 1 (Penny Black Saturday Challenge)

IMG_0873 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m thrilled to be here with a new  Penny Black Saturday Challenge!!

As it’s the first Saturday of the month, it’s time for a  new April Challenge Anything Goes (Optional ‘Ribbon or Twine’).

The addition of ribbon or twine is always a fun way to add some extra dimension.

I decided my  new PB Number 1 stamp was perfect for adding some ribbons.  I love this cute little image and can imagine lots of people to send it to – especially at this unsettled time!

After stamping, it was copic coloured.

To make it look more like a prize cup, I added some ribbons scraps from my box to the handle.

It was finished by adding some gold card scraps along the edges.

I have someone in mind for this one.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge!
