Happy Thoughts

Hello and welcome

Today I had fun playing with watercolour washes.

For this card, I cut a piece of watercolour paper with MFT Blue Prints 26 Die.

I decided to try using Zig colour markers for the colour medium.

After adding a good water layer over the panel, I added colour with more water to make layers suitable for a scene background.  This one has a faint rainbow in the sky.

Once dry, I stamped the ground silhouette stamp from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero – May 18 set along the bottom.  The silhouette of the tree and children from A Simply Dies – Reading Tree die set as then glued in place.

As  the tree was  bare, I  stamped leaf images from the HA set to the branches.

The sentiment was also from the same HA set finished the card.

I was really happy with the way it turned out.  I’m a big fan of silhouette images.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Cheers

Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  4. Wow, you stamped this so perfectly I actually thought it was a die-cut until I read your post…how fabulous!!! Just love your soft-washed background and its so good for showing off such a dramatic stamp. And nice to see a different shape with your card instead of plain rectangle, as I always seem to do…..So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT and please stay safe!!

  5. Your card is pure delight, Helen! (I especially like the memories it evokes for me.) I was sure you had used a die to produce your silhouette and am astonished by the perfection of your stamping the leaves. The background is perfect. Thank you for playing along with us Double Trouble #55.
