WWC299 – Heidi’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week Heidi is hosting the Challenge: All About Occasions.

This week’s card is one of those trainwrecks. I had the idea, but it didn’t go as expected!! 😦

My Christmas tag features House Mouse – Muzzy, Amanda & Monica stamp, distress watercoloured and fussy cut. Wink of Stella was added to the candles and skirts for some pretty sparkles. Not easy to see in the photo sadly.

Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Dust powders were added to a panel of card. When dry it was die cut using Sizzix – Big Moorish Label Die.

The mice were then added along the middle along with a slim piece of vellum as grounding.

To add a bit more interest, Kaisercraft – Holly Circle die was added to the top along with a bow and some twine for attaching it to a present.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Cheers

Helen

My card uses Sparkle & Shine / Sentiment / Clean & Simple.

I decided to feature another Christmas card.  This time using one of my favourite Penny Black images – Fairy Holly. She is so beautiful! So I decided to keep the card Clean & Simple and let her shine!

After copic colouring I added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle and Glossy Accents for the bells. I’m sure she’d love the “sparkle”!! So difficult to photograph! 😦

The panel was trimmed down and added to the card front.

Altnew – Peace.Love.Joy sentiment was added with Brilliance Lightning Black ink.

Thanks so much for visiting.

I hope my card inspires you to join the challenge! There’s still time! 🙂

WWC298 – Kath’s Challenge: Anything Masculine Goes

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week it is Kath’s Challenge –Anything with a Masculine Twist.

This week, I decided to have some fun making some Christmas tags.

I used one of my favourite stamp sets from TCP – Swanky Stamps stamps. These cats have so much character!! You can’t help but smile when you look at them!

Both were stamped, watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut.

This tag used:

MFT Die-namics – Jumbo Fishtail Banner Dies

Mama ELephant – Mini Messages (HO HO HO)

Stampin’ Up – Very Merry Tags

This gentleman features:

Hero Arts – My Monthly Hero Christmas 2019 – Christmas tree

A home made tag shape covered with DP.

The sentiment is from the same TCP set.

I hope these tags bring you a smile. Just deciding who to give them to!

WWC297 – Helen’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week  I’m hosting the Challenge: All About Occasions.

This week, my card features Hero Art – Mountain of Joy stamp.

After stamping, copic clouring and fussy cutting, I put it aside to make the card.

Spot DP was added to the card front.

Altnew – Window Sphere Die cut from white card with a vellum circle over the top.

The bundle of presents was then added to these circles using raised tape. Then added to the card front.

It has lots of wonderful sparkle and shine – just so difficult to photograph! 😦

The sentiment was then gold heat embossed on a circle of vellum and attached to the top of the card.

I hope this brings a smile. I was happy with the finished design!

I would like to thank everyone at Time Out Challenges for selecting my card for an Honourable Mention. I really appreciate it and love to join in their challenges.

Hello and welcome

I had lots of fun playing with Hero Arts products.

I started by stamping the shop front (My Monthly Hero Kit January 2018) as well as various items from the My Monthy Hero December 2019.

After copic colouring and die cutting / fussy cutting all, it was time to put the little scene together.

I used ‘We Are Memory Keepers 3D EF for the back wall, and Darice -Brick Wall EF for the brick walls.

It was then a matter of adding each item to complete the box card.

I love looking through the front window to see inside the shop.

Thanks so much for visiting. I really appreciate you taking the time.

Please take care

Cheers

Thinking of You

Hello and welcome

This is a fun card I made for the CASology Challenge – Sunset. As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew I had to play. I just love to watch the sunset over the ocean.

These stamps are from a set called ‘By the Sea’. It is a favourite old stamp set from the “There She Goes” Company, at least 8 years old. Sadly, this company closed years ago.

After stamping with second generation stamping, I watercoloured the ocean and sky with Distress Inks.

I then restamped the images using Memento – Gray Flannel Ink.

The sentiment is also from an old sentiment set. I’m not sure but it may be from Penny Plack.

Thanks so much for visiting.
Take care

Helen

This month I decided to select Die Cut / Embossing / CAS . It also works for Lots of Layers / PB Stamp / Embossing.

I used a PB Die – Framed Flowers. It is one of my early purchases. It was cut once from black and once from white card

A panel of white was ink blended with Distress Inks, then splattered with water to give texture and flicked with glittery gold.

The die cuts were glued together leaving a slight white shadow on the black.

It was then glued to the inked panel leaving a small border.

The sentiment is part of one from the PB – heartfelt sentiment stamp set. I first stamped it in black ink and then with Versa Mark and heat embossed with clear powder in the bottom corner of the card front. It gives a lovely shine.

Two strips of black card were cut and added to the card front leaving a border top, bottom and sides.

The panel was then added centred over the back strips using raised tape.

Hello and welcome

I’m here to share this CAS card using SSS – You’re a Star die cuts.

After die cutting, I used copics to ombre colour them, add Wink of Stella and 2 coats of clear embossing to make them shine and raised up.

WWC296 – Michelle’s Challenge: Anything Feminine Goes

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week  Michelle is hosting the Challenge: Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist.

This week I started by cutting MFT – Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window from a card panel. I piece of kraft card was cut to cover the window on the back.

I had some card that I had previously smooched with various Distress inks. From these scraps and some black card, I cut different greenery using MFT – Leafy Greenery dies.

The sentiment – Craft4U Dies was cut using kraft card and added to the bottom of the front panel.

It was then a matter of selecting different shaped greenery and sitting them in the window. Once I was happy with the way it looked, they were glued in place.

Using raised tape the kraft card was added behind the window, and again to add the panel to the card front.

It was really quite a quick card to make and could easily be reproduced even using DP for the greenery.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Just a note to say …

Hello and welcome

I’m back to share a couple of cards I have made recently.

The first features SSS – Center Cut Kaleidoscope stamp. When I saw the current challenge over at Time Out, I knew I had to enter, as I just love the look of kraft and white.

It is a fairly quick card, starting with stamping the kaleidocsope on kraft in Hero Arts white ink.

I then stamped the terrarium from SSS Plantiful Puns set, copic coloured and fussy cut, so that you could see the kraft card behind the terrarium. This was the most time consuming part.

The kraft panel was trimmed and added to a white card.

The sentiment is from an old set but I’m not sure what company. (It could be PB.)

This was added with raised tape.

I was very happy with the way it turned out.
