Happy Anniversary (HLS – Watercolour)

Hello and welcome

After our break, I’m back with the first challenge for 2021 at  HLS Watercolour Challenge for January, 2021. This year it’s Anything Goes so long as it features   watercolour.

To begin the year, I’m sharing this card I made for a friend’s parents to celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary. Such a wonderful milestone. They loved it and I’m thrilled to be able to share it.

I decided to use an Altnew stamp set. I just love their wonderful florals! They are favourites of mine.

I started by stamping Altnew’s – Pen Sketched Flowers on watercolour card and coloured it using Distress Inks (Blueprint Sketch). I love this colour!! I just love these flowers! They are one of my favourites. I never get tired of painting flowers!!! 🙂

The sentiments are from Altnew – Happy Together sentiments and Altnew – Painted Poppy sets.

I added a silver strip down the edge to finish.

This is larger than normal card to allow for the flowers to flow down the card.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Wishing you a great 2021!!!

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  4. What an absolute stunning card. You definitely have the watercoloring technique down. Thanks for joining us at PIP Challenges.

  5. Popping back as it’s been pointed out to me that your post is dated and posted before Allsorts, Stamping Sensations and We Love Chocolate Baroque challenges started and as with all challenges back-limked entries are ineligible. Such a shame as it’s such a pretty card but maybe you can join in again.
