WWC319 – Helen’s Challenge: All Things Feminine

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. I’m thrilled to be the hostess for today’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All Things Feminine.

May be an image of one or more people, people standing and text that says "WWC319 Helen's Challenge: All Things Feminine"

I decided to make a fun shaker tag today.

I started by stamping, Distress watercolouring and fussy cutting the small image from Stampendous House-Mouse – Celebrate Friends stamp set. Of course, Wink of Stella added some shimmer to the ribbons on the image.

I then cut the tag using the Sizzix Rounded Tag twice in white card stock and once in DP.

The DP tag was added to a card tag and then had a window cut.

A piece of acetate was cut to cover the window. The fussy cut image was added to the top of the window before the acetate was added to the window. A little glue was then added to be sure the image was adhered to the acetate.

Raised tape was added around the back of the window to form a well to hold the sequins and sparkles.

The white card panel was added to the back to seal the shaker window.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed and added to the front with raised tape. Two pieces of ribbon were threaded through to top of the tag to finish.

I love a fun of a shaker, even a smaller version!

Donโ€™t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

WWC318 – Kath’s Challenge: All About Occasions

I want to thank everyone over at A Blog Named Hero for selecting my card as the second winner of their Monochrome Challenge. I was so excited that they liked my card!!

A Blog Named Hero Challenge Winners for June โ€“ Monochrome Our second winner is Helen, for her seaside scenes.

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Kath is the hostess for this fortnight’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All About Occasions.

May be an image of text that says "SIONS Everything We Celebrate! Christmas, Easter New Year's, Valentine's, Patrick's Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Canada Day, Fourth of July, Hallowe'en, Birthdays, Birth, Wedding, Anniversary, Thanks, Sympathy, Congrats And so many more occasions WWC318 -Kath's Challenge: All About Occasions"

Today I had fun buiding these little scenes using Hero Arts Seas the Days Seagulls.

After diecutting MFT Stitched Collage Frame, I did second generation stamping on each of the scene panels in Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire. Varing strengths of colour was used to watercolour each panel.

The seagull on the pole and the seastar were stamped on a scrap of card, watercoloured and fussy cut.

The sentiment was from the same set.

The white frame was added to a piece of blue card and the panels glued in place.

The seagull and seastar were added using raised tape to give some added interest and dimension.

As I love anything to do with the beach, I love these little images and love to try to change up how I use them. Monochromatic schemes are so special. Remember to add a little black to get a darker shade and more water to make it lighter.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Hello and welcome

We’re back with the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies- June .   As always, anything goes in this challenge. So, I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

I was asked to make an Engagement card, so I decided to use one of my favourite dies. Memory Box – Butterfly Hearts.

I started by making the colour band down the side of the front panel using Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder – Midnight Blue. After sprinkling a little powder along the side of the panel, I sprayed with water and tipped it to allow it to drip across slightly. I then used a brush to smooth out the colour and ensure a full cover of colour, but left the unever edges so it still had the fluid look.

I love the way playing with these powders turn out. You can never truly predict how it will look when its dry. A favourite thing to use!

Another smaller panel was made as well.

Once the panels were dry, the front panel was die cut with the Memory Box die ensuring the edge starts in the blue section. A piece of silver card was added behind the butterflies.

On the second panel, the die is cut again along with a run of small butterflies from Memory Box – Butterfly Delights and the Congratulations sentiment.

Now came the fun part! ๐Ÿ™‚

Each butterfly from the second panel was removed and glued on top of the butterflies on the front panel. Each butterfly had its wings folded up so some of the silver would show though.

Some of the smaller butterflies were added to the panel to look as though they are flying up to form the butterfly. Some were a little lighter from the edges of the colured panel.

A small line of silver Gelly Roll was added for the body of each butterfly.

The sentiment was layered up with 4 layers of white card before being added to the card front.

It really came together fairly quickly and I was thrilled with the way it turned out. Love all the shimmer and shime!!

On a green panel the top of the stamp was clear heat embossed to give a little shine a subtle interst to the panel.

A kraft panel stamped with a text background was added to a white card front.

A piece of yellow ribbon was added to the green panel before being added to the front.

It features Colorado Craft Company – Big & Bold -Perfume Bouquet stamp set.

It is watercoloured using Distress Inks and then I added a little Prismer Color pencils for some added details. Watercolouring is my favourite technique and the one I use most.

I love these stamp sets with their amazing details.

I gold heat embossed the little tag for the bottle and added it on top of a piece of ribbon.

I hope you like it.
