WWC327 – Dawn’s Challenge: All Things Feminine

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Dawn is our hostess for today’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All Things Feminine.

This card features Hero Arts – Florals Nasturtium stamp set.

After stamping, it was watercolouored using Distress inks.

The panel was then torn along the bottom and the sentiment from the set, gold heat embossed.

I then started layering this panel onto other panels : First to a piece of kraft card stamped with HA – Friends background stamp, with a torn edge. Second to a scrap of dull gold card wrapping paper (glued to a card scrap for stability), with a torn edge.

These were joined at the top with twine with a gold thread through it.

The card front was created with a panel of corrugated kraft card and a panel I created by smooching various Distress Oxide inks and a spatter of gold.

The tags were then added to the card front.

Happy Birthday (AAA Cards – Guest Designer)

I would like to send a huge thank you to the team over at The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge for selecting my card for the Top Sister Award for their Birthday Challenge. I am truly honoured!

Hello and welcome

I am thrilled to have been invited to join the wonderfully creative team over at AAA Cards as a Guest Designer for their new AAA Challenge #201 – one – Corner – Optional twist – Boo! I hope you can join in the fun!

For my card I used SSS Beautiful Flowers stamp set. Although this is a large stamp, it is easy to use a section across the bottom corner of the card front.

After stamping I used Distress Ink for some no-line watercoluring. At the end I added some Prismacolor pencil for some extra detail.

I hope you like my card.

Just a reminder for the new October challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional ‘Colour Inspiration – (Pick at least two colours from: Black, Orange, Purple, Green, Red, White & Teal)’).

I decided to make a quick fun birthday card using pops of all the colours listed!!

After stamping PB – Bird-Day stamp it was watercoloured using Distress Inks and the sentiments from the set added.

The side of the panel was trimmed to leave the paw sticking out.

I was so lucky and found this scrap of DP that fitted perfectly with this crazy cat image! Even the unevenness of the colours seemed to fit I thought!! Hope you do too!! 🙂

When I saw the MFT Sketch Challenge this week, I decided I had to enter.

My card features MFT – Winter Songbirds stamp set.

After stamping the images they were copic coloured and fussy cut.

The circles were cut using Spellbinders circle dies from white card and had a vellum circle overlaid.

The images were then glued onto the circles before being added to the black card front. The birds were then added wth raised tape.

Just a Note to Say…

I would like to thank the team over at Time Out Challenge for selecting my card as the winner of thier Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge. It is a wonderful honour.

Hello and welcome

When I saw the Altnew  “Alphabet Name Game”. I thought it would be fun to enter. With my name starting with a ‘H’ my thought was Heat Embossing. 🙂

My card features Altnew Wonderland stamp.

The large bloom was heat embossed in gold on vellum, while the 2 smaller images were heat embossed on the card front.

Both were watercolured using Distress Inks – Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry.

Part of the background was stencilled using Altnew – Feeling Dotty stencil.

The vellum panel then had the sentiments from the same set gold heat embossed before adding the strip to the card front slightly overlappying the smaller images.

This card was quite quick to make and I am happy with the results.

Hello and welcome back

This card features Altnew – Starry Flowers stamp set which was watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut.

The background was ink blended heavier towards the top and middle and some shimmer spritzed to add texture and interest.

The AltnewDiamond Frame Cover die was cut from some dull gold card and the flowers and Altnew – Fancy Hello die cut worked into the frame before being added to the card front.

I was happy with the way this turned out. I hope you like it too.

Thinking of You (HLS – Dies)

We’re back with the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – October .   As always, anything goes in this challenge. So, I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

W0w! It’s hard to believe we’re in October already!!

I made this card for some special friends.

I started by stamping Altnew – Hello Gorgeous image in Distress ink and watercoloured using Distress Inks before fussy cutting.

The background panel was cut using Altnew – Pegboard Canvs Cover Die and ink blended with Distress inks. Spiced Marmalade was used to ink the triangle shape. The panel was then sprinkled with water and blotted up to give some interest.

The Sizzix Banner dies were used to cut the kraft frame.

The flowers were then added to the triangle frame and layered on the front panel.

The sentiment is from Altnew – Fragile Foliage set and fussy cut.

I coloured 2 strips for the top and bottom to match the flower colours.

Wow!! I was thrilled to have my card selected as a winner over at House Mouse Challenge!! Thank you so much to everyone for choosing my little creation. It means a lot to me. To think I wasn’t too sure about this one!! Ha!! Ha!!!

Hello and welcome

I have a fun card using Stamplorations – House Mouse Acorn Cup stamp. I could imagine these little mice surrounded by leaves as the have fun celebrating. I’m not sure if it came off. but it looks fun IRL. I found the 3D leaves caused lots of shadows making the card look a little dark and overwhelming the mice!

I iked up a wood block stamp – leaf and watercoloured/ smooched with Distress inks before fussy cutting. They were then scrunched to make them look like dry leaves.

I used MFT – Pierced Rectangle Frames dies to create the kraft frame for the little scene.

The background was a piece I had previously created with lots of inks and splatters of gold.

“Celebrate’ comes from MFT – Make a Wish stamp set.

The mice were then added with the leaves arranged around them.

I chose to use orange, green, black and white on my card for this challenge, as I thought they suited the PB – Flower Lantern stamp perfectly. I’ve had this one for a while but haven’t used it before. I jsut love the shapes on this image.

After lightly stamping with colur added directly to my stamp with Distress Ink pens, I washed over the image with water to get the colours to blend and move. To finish, I continued water colouring with Distress inks, until I was happy with the detail.

I decided to leave it without a sentiment, as I’m not sure of the occasion I will use this one for.
