W0w! It’s hard to believe we’re in October already!!

I made this card for some special friends.

I started by stamping Altnew – Hello Gorgeous image in Distress ink and watercoloured using Distress Inks before fussy cutting.

The background panel was cut using Altnew – Pegboard Canvs Cover Die and ink blended with Distress inks. Spiced Marmalade was used to ink the triangle shape. The panel was then sprinkled with water and blotted up to give some interest.

The Sizzix Banner dies were used to cut the kraft frame.

The flowers were then added to the triangle frame and layered on the front panel.

The sentiment is from Altnew – Fragile Foliage set and fussy cut.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this month!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a good day, stay safe and wishing you a very Happy New Year!

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous ❤️ I love the altenew dies and they look fabulous. The way you’ve colored the whole thing with shadows and brights they look so real.

  2. Helen, this card is stunning! I really love the beautiful flowers, colored perfectly, and the background die is really cool! Love it!! Hope you have a great weekend!
PS. I don’t know if I have said this to you before but my older daughter lives in Brisbane! She emigrated to Australia 10 years ago and loves it. I keep my hopes up that someday we can go visit her but we need to get past this little pandemic first! LOL

    1. I really appreciate your very kind comments Debbie! Won’t it be wonderful when we can all travel safely again. Amazing you have a connection to Brisbane!! Where abouts does she live? Wouldn’t it be incredible if she lived near me!! 🙂 We all love in hope of a time of peace and without restrictions. Stay safe! 🙂

  5. Your flowers are amazing and I love how you have used that die for the background and not worried about whether the little dots were in or out. It is a great effect, but I know if it were me I would have had to have them all out or all in, wish I wasn’t like that! xx

    1. Ha! Ha!! I was being very rash Hilary!! I was always an all or nothing too!!! But after seeing other die cuts left in, I decided to give it a try and liked it, so….!
