WWC327 – Dawn’s Challenge: All Things Feminine

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Dawn is our hostess for today’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All Things Feminine.

May be an image of 1 person, standing and text that says "WWC327 Dawn's Challenge: All Things Feminine"

This card features Hero Arts – Florals Nasturtium stamp set.

After stamping, it was watercolouored using Distress inks.

The panel was then torn along the bottom and the sentiment from the set, gold heat embossed.

I then started layering this panel onto other panels : First to a piece of kraft card stamped with HA – Friends background stamp, with a torn edge. Second to a scrap of dull gold card wrapping paper (glued to a card scrap for stability), with a torn edge.

These were joined at the top with twine with a gold thread through it.

The card front was created with a panel of corrugated kraft card and a panel I created by smooching various Distress Oxide inks and a spatter of gold.

The tags were then added to the card front.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe and have a good day

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. Hi Helen, I do like your nasturtium card very much, and it is one of my husband’s ( I think I put the apostrophe in the right place hehe) favourite flowers, Is there any chance that I could have the dimensions for your card please? Cheers and thankyou, Marilyn in the UK, formerly Adelaide.

  2. A lovely card with pretty nasturtiums – (which are still flowering in my garden at present).

I like your layering and torn edges.

    Thanks sharing at Allsorts.

  3. Such a beautiful card Helen, the ragged edges go perfectly with the design and your colouring of the flowers stunning. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam

  4. STUNNING card Helen. Your flowers are so beautiful in these bright fall colours. The background is fantastic with the texture of the corrugated card and beautiful smooshed panels. The tag design adds to all that wonderful texture with your torn layers. This is really a work of art! Thanks for joining us at The Flower Challenge!

  5. It’s a really lovely card Helen – although I don’t see a link to the Playground in your post. I may have missed it but have double checked.

    Di xx
