Thinking of You (HLS – Watercolour)

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with HLS Watercolour Challenge for November, 2021. This year it’s Anything Goes so long as it features watercolour. So easy to join in!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 6e20e-hls2bxmas2btemplate.png

This month, I decided to use the Paper Rose stamp set – Wattle. This Golden Wattle is the Australian floral emblem and is why Australia uses Green and Gold colours for sporting uniforms. There are many different species of wattle and are found in every state of Australia. This Golden Wattle is one of the most common with small, soft, fluffy, pom pom like flowers in late Winter to Spring.

After stamping, the image was watercoloured using Distress Inks and Tombow pens.

The side of the image was fussy cut for a little more impact and added to the black card front panel.

A strip of black and gold was also added.

The sentiment from the same set was white heat embossed.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe

Cheers

Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

    1. Thanks so much Vicky! I don’t think a lot of people outside Australia know much about the wattle. Only gum trees!! Ha!! I always enjoy learning a little snippet about another place!! Useless but fun!! Stay safe! 🙂 x

    1. Thanks so much Therese! I know, I feel the same. I’ve had this one stamped and partially coloured a while but wasn’t sure how these little flowers would look best. Paining is easier but on a stamped image not so easy to add the details and highlights to something so small. Pleased I finally used it though. Now to grag out a couple of others!! Ha! Ha!! 🙂

  2. This is so pretty, Helen! I love how you’ve partially cut the flowers, so we can appreciate its beauty against the white and the black background. Stunning effects! ❤
