WWC333 – Dawn’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Dawn is host for this fortnight’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All About Occasions.

May be an image of text that says "SIONS Everything We Celebrate! Christmas, Easter New Year's, Valentine's, Patrick's Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Canada Day Fourth of July, Hallowe'en, Birthdays, Birth, Wedding, Anniversary, Thanks, Sympathy, Congrats And so many more occasions WWC333 Dawn's Challenge: All About Occasions"

Today’s card uses this beautiful butterfly – Transformation from The Ton.

After stamping and heat embossing, I used Prize Ribbon Distress Ink to watercolour, as well as a little light grey on the leaves. White signo pen was added to the flower centres.

I decided to watercolour this beauty with Distress ink. As much as I love pencils and copics, watercolouring remains my favourite medium. I never get tired of seeing the wonderful layers and softness you can achieve as the image/s come to life. Using a heat embossed image makes it even easier.

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft again heat embossed.

A piece of card for background had Prize Ribbon inked around the edges before being added to the card front.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this challenge!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Cheers

Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  6. This is one stand out card Helen. The colouring is outstanding and using the grey a lovely touch and I didn’t realise you had added the black but what a fab idea and it makes it so much more bold. Love it xx
