Hello and welcome
It’s the first of February so I’m back for HLS Watercolour Challenge for February, 2022. As always it’s Anything Goes so long as it features watercolour. So easy to join in!
I was pleased with how bright and happy today’s card is. Just perfect for that special friend for any occasion.
I started by gold heat embossing the Paper Rose – Mandala Ornament stamp. I then used Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Slaty Ocean and Wilted Violet Distress inks to paint wet washes of colour to form a rainbow of colours, being sure to wash the colour out to the edges of the panel.
It was then sprayed lightly with Glimmer Mist- Bubbles spray, which has a light blue tinge, to give it a lovely shimmer.
The ‘hello’ die from Paper Rose was cut from the bottom of the panel and from white card.
The heat embossed sentiment is from an old “There She Goes’ stamp set.
The panel was then added to a white card front and the ‘hello’ was layered up with the white and then topped with the coloured die cut.

Stunning Helen, love the gold and off the edge. Wonderful wash and mixed so well. Do like that blue spray, haven’t heard of that before but adds the perfect finishing touch x

Incredibly gorgeous, Helen! That mandala is very charming – it would work out for any Indian festival or celebration, especially with that rainbow of colors and shine. Very festive.
