Less is More #472 – Hello (Recipe – Use Vellum)

Hello and welcome

Happy Saturday everyone. It’s time for a new challenge over at LIM. The challenge is to create using the theme: Recipe – Use Vellum.

I love the look of vellum, so I love this challenge!

After cutting a white square using MFT – Pierced Square Frames die.

On a scrap of vellum, I white heat embossed the image from Hero Arts & SSS Real Flowers Vintage set.

After adding this piece behind the frame, I added another scrap of vellum where I had played with alcohol inks, behind it. (Not too great on its own but perfect as a backing.) It just gives a pretty soft colour behind the white embossing.

This was then added to the square card front.

The daisy from HA – Daisy and Bugs stamp set was white heat embossed with depth added with Tombow pens on the back. The edges of colouring was softened with a damp brush. The daisy was then fussy cut and added to the front.

The sentiment is from the same Daisy stamp set and white heat embossed on the card front. (It was embossed 3 times to give it more impace being white on white.)

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

I decided to make a fun birthday card today.

This week I decided to make a shaker card.

I started by stamping, copic colouring and fussy cutting the PB Choir Kids stamp by Mo Manning.

The Sizzix Rounded dies were cut several times from card and the top layer from some pretty bright red packaging to form a frame.

The back used MFT- Music Background stamp black heat embossed.

The sentiment is from PB Waddling By stamp set.

Today I have a fun twofer! So quick, easy and eye-catching! (The colours are much more vibrant IRL! Sadly, the photo doesn’t do it justice!:( )

After watercolouring a piece of card using Altnew Brush Markers, they were die cut using Altnew -Dog Rose Panel A . Panel B was cut from black card twice.

After gluing the B Panel onto some white card, I inlayed the coloured pieces. It was then layered on black and then a white card front.

The second card used the left over Panel A and had the B Panel over the top before mounting it onto black card.

The 2 sentiments were cut from a scap of the coloured panel using Impression Obsession – Birthday Top Edges Dies.

So simple but very eye-catching!

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this month!

I decided to make a fun birthday card today.

I started by stamping PB – Party Friends cats and Distress watercolouring them. I’ve had this fun stamp set for years (at least 7). So many cute critter images in the set.

I then mounted the panel on black card. The sentiment was from PB – Birthday Bears stamp set.

The sentiment from the Party Friends set was stamped on a die cut using Altnew – Speech Bubbles.

I printed a sheet of music, trimmed it down, mounted it on black and added it to the card front. along with the speech bubble and some musical notes form Taylors Expression – Just a Note dies.

Thinking of You (HLS – Watercolour)

Hello again

It’s the first of the month, so time for HLS Watercolour Challenge for July 2022. As always it’s Anything Goes so long as it features watercolour. So easy to join in!

I have something a little different today. This piece was made using a Tim Holtz Wildflower Layering stencil.

After I had used the stencil there was lots of ink remaining on the stencil itself, so rather than waste it, I put it over a piece of card and wiped gently towards the openings using a baby wipe to move the ink. The moisture content in the baby wipe worked like water and made this beautiful soft ghost like image on the paper. I was very pleased and decided to make it into a card today.

The panel was then cut using Altnew die and layered on a scrap of vellum before adding to the card front.
