Have A Delightful Day (HLS – Watercolour)

IMG_1070 (2)

Hello and welcome

I’m back with another challenge over at  HLS Watercolour Challenge for June, 2020 with the fun  optional twist of LAYERS!  However, anything  watercolour is just fine.

This month I have brought out some of my fun MFT stamp sets. This card uses MFT – In Paris stamp set.

The images were stamped, watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut. Wink of Stella and Gelly Roll Glitter pen to the balloons.

The sky was watercoloured using some Perfect Pearls water for a little sparkle.

Then it was just a matter of layering the images to the long card front.

The sentiment is form MFT – Sweet Forest Friends, white heat embossed.

Lots of fun colouring the balloons! Too bad its not clear in the photos.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week  it is Kath’s Challenge: All About Occasions.

Image may contain: text

This week, I have been playing with Distress Ink watercolouring.

I started with stamping the smaller images from Pink Fresh Eucalyptus Fantasy set then add soft smooching of pastel colours. (The colours were sprayed with Perfect Pearls water for a little sparkle.)

Using the same colours, the images were washed with colour.

The panel then had the sentiment (Pink Fresh Floral Frame) and gold frames ( Altnew Fine Frames Cover Die) were added.

I was pleased with the soft delicate look to this one. I’m linking it up with Time Out Challenge – Free, as I believe some of the most valuable things in life are Free – Love and Hugs.  We all came to appreciate them more over the last weeks as we have been isolated from our family and friends.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Hello and welcome

I was fascinated when I read about the To Bee or Not To Bee Blog Hop

over at Crafty Milka’s  Blog.  Why don’t check it out.

Here is an extract from her blog.

Aim of the hop is to celebrate 3rd World Bee Day, to support bees and bees          protection, to raise public awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping and benefits of using apicultural products for our health.

So today’s card features a sweet little scene from an old wood block stamp I bought from a cheap shop years ago.  I always thought is was super sweet.

It was stamped in brown ink on a piece of packaging from a coffee box.  I use this a lot as I love the colour of this kraft card behind the printed box. Cheap creating and great recycling!!

The image was coloured using Prismacolor pencils. I did add a touch of Wink of Stella to the wings.

The sentiment was from Elizabeth Crafts – Bees Sentiments. heat embossed on a hexagonal cut out from the front. The bigger bee is from this set too.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

I hope your enjoying some crafty time.

Stay safe and have a good day

Cheers

Helen

Hello and welcome

Today it’s our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week I’m hosting the Challenge – Anything Goes With a Masculine Twist.

Image may contain: text

I brought out one of my MFT Stamp sets for today’s card – It’s a Mice Time to Celebrate.

After stamping and copic colouring this fun little guy, I added a mask as well as masking the edge of the panel. It was then time to stencil the background using Distress Ink and SSS Falling Snow stencil. I lightly sponged close to the edges to give the look of a frame.

A front panel had MFT – Musical Notes background stamp and white heat embossed.

After using tape to mask off 2 stripes down the LHS of the panel, it was blended with blue Distress Ink.

This panel was then added tot he cad front and the smaller mouse panel was attached with raised tape.

The sentiment is from the same MFT stamp set and white heat embossed and added to the front.

To finish I added some Wink of Stella to the hat and  Glossy Accents to the glasses.

I had a great time playing with so many different techniques.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Hello and welcome

My post is for the Impression Obsession Challenge -Mom’s Rule.

Moms RuleI thought this was a perfect challenge for all the wonderful Mums out there who do so many wonderful things for their families.

I had lots of fun stamping the 2 tiny cupcake images from the ‘Cupcake’ stamp set.  I’ve always loved this set. Who doesn’t love cupcakes??? 🙂 🙂

After stamping, the images were water coloured with Distress Inks, then Wink of Stella and my favourite Glitter Gelly Roll Pen details and random clusters of dots between the cakes. The panel was then trimmed.

The sentiment was heat embossed on the vellum strip with rose gold and wrapped around the main panel.

There is plenty of shimmer but it’s not so easy to photograph. So pretty IRL!

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for the next challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday!  This week  Kath is hosting the “All About Occasions” Challenge.

Image may contain: text

The other day I saw a  post from the “Create A Smile” and looked at some of their fun products.  As I don’t yet own any of their goodies, I used one of their freebies. It was also a good chance for me to play around with printing out and working with digi stamps. Something I don’t do often.

After printing this fun image, I watercoloured to make the drink look as though the different layers were slowly mixing together. I then added layers of Wink of Stella before fussy cutting. So difficult to see the shimmer but so pretty IRL!

IMG_1022 (2)

The oval was due cut from black card and I added some small hand drawn hearts and dots and then gold embossed along with the edges.

The sentiment 9an old one from Verve stamps) was gold heat embossed inside a banner from Concord & 9th, also gold heat embossed. (With an extra on vellum)

The fun background DP with the gold pineapples came from a pad from Aldi!  I thought it worked with this fun drink.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Hello and welcome

It’s time for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies – March.   As always, anything goes in this challenge. So, I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

Today’s fun card features a cute tiger image form MFT – Sunshine & Friendship stamp set.

After stamping and watercolouring, the image was fussy cut and had WInk of Stella and Glossy Accents added to the swim ring.

The circles were cut using MFT – A2 Stitched Circle STAX (cut 4).  From one the SS Stamps Stitched circle was cut to form a circle frame.

On the base card, clouds were inked using MFT – Cloud stencil on the top section and then ink blended in a darker blue towards the bottom.

2 sections of the smaller die from MFT – Making Waves die was cut from vellum. The top of one had a little ink along the top edge.

On a scrap of card, Distress Inks were smooched.  When dry, 5 of the small trailing leaf die was cut (MFR – Leaf Greenery die).

It was then only a matter of assembly.  First, the 2 layers of vellum along the bottom. Then the trailing leaves were added along the side.

Then the circle frame was added to the front, and one of the circles added to the back.

The last circle had the top removed and then added to the bottom on the back to form a pocket for a gift card.

IMG_1013 (2)

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and attached with raised tape along the bottom.  The other sentiment was added to the back.

Lastly, the tiger was added with raised tape to the front.

I love the idea of having a fun way to give a gift card.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!
