WWC182 – Tristan’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

P1070556Welcome

Today I’m back with the new Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Tristan’s “All About Occasions” Challenge leaves you lots of opportunity to join in!

Image may contain: textMy card is a one layer with some masking and lots of fun with inks.

I played with a couple of variations but was happy with the way this one turned out.  It uses Altnew Painted Flowers which were loosely water coloured using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink.

The flowers were masked while the top section was stamped with Hero Arts- Friend background stamp using Weathered Wood Distress Ink (with sections wiped off). Smooshing with more Weathered Wood ink  makes the background appear distressed.

The area under the flowers was smooshed using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamped with Simon Says Stamps – Big Scripty Greetings.

Don’t forget to check out the wonderful creations from the rest of the Design Team over on our blog.

Thanks for popping in and have a great week!

Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. This is Karen Bull, a design team member from A Blog Named Hero. I really like how you have that bright spot of color where the sentiment resides and the additional interest surrounding that pop of color. Thank you for entering the challenge this month!

  2. I love, love that script background with the smooshed technique, the colors of your flowers are beautiful, the blue section under them appears as it was a small, clear pond.
Thank you for playing along with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, hope you play again soon.
    Hugs.

  3. Fabulous layout Helen. Love the background with the script. Such softly coloured flowers and love the way you have kept the sentiment background plain so it is a real stand out. So pretty.

  5. A wonderful card, Helen, brilliantly designed. I love the script with the distressed look and wonderful subtle colours. What a perfect background for your stunning watercoloured flowers. They appear to be surrounding a calm pond on which the sentiment is floating. Lovely!
