WWC321 – Tristan’s Challenge: All Things Masculine

I would like to send a HUGE thank you to Di over at Pixie’s Crafty Workshop for selecting my card in the Top 3 Picks. It means so much.

Snippets Playground Gold Star

I would like to thank everyone over at Pammies Inky Pinky for selecting my card for an Honorable Mention. I really appreciate the support and encouragement.

Hello and welcome

Today it’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday! This week Tristan is hosting the Challenge –Anything with a Masculine Twist.

May be an image of text that says "WWC321 Tristan's Challenge: All Things Masculine"

My card is one I made for a dear friend’s birthday and hopefully it brought a smile!

This one features Mama Elephant – The Dog’s Woof stamp set.

After stamping it was copic coloured and the smaller images fussy cut.

The little pup from the Playful Pups set was also coloured and fussy cut.

Mama Elephant – Window Dies were used to cut 2 of the windows and one set of the shutters from white card. A matching shape was cut in the front of the card.

A panel of white card was embossed using Darice Brick EF. Once it was added to the card front, the window shape was cut from this panel also.

Inside the card DP was added to cover the entire card. Again the window was cut to match the card front.

The windows (one on the front and one inside) were added along with the shutters on the front.

The sentiments were stamped on the front bricks using Mama Elephant – Mini Everyday Messages and the sentiment from Mama Elephant – Playful Pups was stamped inside above the window frame.

The pup was added to the front of the card.

The large pup panel had the tartan ribbon added to the bottom and then added to the inside of the card with some raised tape behind the top.

The extra items on the ‘table’ were added with raised tape to finish the party scene.

I hope you liked this fun card.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this challenge!

I was thrilled today to have my card chosen in the Top 3 over at Kickstart Christmas Challenge! Thanks so much to the team over at this fun challenge. I don’t make too many Christmas cards so was thrilled to win a spot!! Be sure to check out their blog. “A gorgeous monochrome masterpiece.”

Hello and welcome

Today I am using a new to me stamp PB – Waddling by. I loved it the first time I saw it. I also felt it was perfect for the Monochrome theme, as the majority of the image would be black and white shades anyway! 🙂

After stamping the image, it was watercoloured using Distress ink. (So easy – only one colour!!)

I continued slowly building up the details on the image by varying the strength of the ink washes.

The panel was then cut using MFT – Die-namics – Wonky Squares Stax and layered on black before adding it to the card front.

The sentiment tag is from Mama Elephant – Sew Fancy Creative Dies. I rather liked the details on the little tag as it gave some interest to an otherwise fairy plain card. The sentiment is from the PB stamp set.

I then added faux stitching on the tag with a black pen.

The tag was then added to the card using raised tape.

I hope this happy little penguin brings you a smile. I think he’d be fun for a birthday card bry changing the decorations on the parcel.

WWC320 – Dawn’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. Dawn is the hostess for this fortnight’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All About Occasions.

May be an image of text that says "SIONS Everything We Celebrate! Christmas, Easter New Year's, Valentine's, Patrick's Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Canada Day Fourth of July, Hallowe'en, Birthdays, Birth, Wedding, Anniversary, Thanks, Sympathy, Congrats And so many more occasions WWC320- Dawn's Challenge: All About Occasions"

I decided a slimline card was perfect for using this Mama Elephant – Wish Upon Star set image. These little images and their sentiments are so sweet.

After stamping the little bunny, it was masked and then the top section masked off ready for ink blending to make a night sky background using Distress Inks. It was then splattered a little water and then white and gold paint.

After removing the masks, it was then time to watercolour the little rabbit and moon. Again, I used Distress inks and Tombows.

I loved the way it turned out. I hope you do too.

Don’t forget to head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of our Design Team.

I look forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe in these difficult times and have a good day

Happy Birthday (HLS – Dies)

Hello and welcome

We’re back with the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers –  Anything Goes with Dies- July .   As always, anything goes in this challenge. So, I hope you’ll find time in  your busy life to join in the fun this month!

My card is an older easel card I made for a very special person. It has a very feminine look. I hope you like it.

I covered a the front panel with a pale pink and then a white cover die cut.

The Sizzix tag die had the image from Papermania’s Lucy Cromwell was copic coloured, fussy cut and added with raised tape. A sheer bow was added before it was added to the card front.

The inside base of the card had the pink DP added half way ready to form the base of the easel.

After cutting and embossing the die cut to act as the stop for the easel, it was stamped with the Verse Stamps – Birthday Surprise sentiment.

A small Happy Birthday was added on a small tag.

Time to head over to our blog to check out the great work by the rest of the Design Team!

I look forward to seeing what you create this month!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a good day, stay safe and wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Today I decided to use a piece of coloured card as I wanted a base colour as an extra shade for my flowers. However, I wasn’t sure how it would take water.

I started with my PB – Spontaneous Joy stamp in my Misti. Using Distress Ink – Wilted Violet marker, I added strokes of colour onto the flower image. I then used the old ‘huffing’ technique (where you huff onto the stamp and your warm breathe reactivates the ink) before stamping.

I continued slowly building up the images, adding a little Seedless Preserves at the base of he flowers and in the centres and a very tiny amount of black in the middle of the centres.

Once I felt I had a fairly good impression, I used a damp brush to swipe over the colours for a little blending, sometimes adding a little more Seedless Preserves where needed to even out the images.

I was pleased with the way it turned out as the colours worked together so well. I’m not sure the photo shows the colour as pretty as it is IRL! 😦

I finished by adding a border of darker purple and the sentiment from PB – Heartfelt stamp set.

Ahoy! big smiles (HLS – Watercolour)

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with HLS Watercolour Challenge for June, 2021. This year it’s Anything Goes so long as it features watercolour. So easy to join in!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 6e20e-hls2bxmas2btemplate.png

My card features a fun image from Creat a Smile – Big Surprise.

I thought this walrus was so cute!!!

It started with a piece of tissue paper that I had watercoloured by dipping it into some Distress Inks sprayed with water on my mat. It picks up the colour wonderfully and is so vibrant.

This was sandwiched between 2 Kaisercraft – Film Strip die cuts.

The senitments were then stamped in black ink onto the tissue.

The card front had some light ink smooching to give the look of water splashes and then adhered to the card front.

The walrus and stones were watercolored and then fussy cut cut before being added with raised tape.

I thought it was fun and I love the look of the watercoloured tissue paper.

I hope you like it.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Stay safe
