Happy Saturday everyone. It’s time for a new challenge over at LIM. The challenge is to create using the theme: Butterflies.
I chose a butterfly image y from HA – Antique Engravings stamp set, heat embossed, Distress watercoloured and fussy cut.
For a background I die cut HA – Jungle Frame Fancy Die which I watercoloured with Distress inks and trimmed to a smaller piece before adding to the card front.
The sentiment is from HA – Togetherness Flower Bouquet stamp set.
To finish I added the butterfly to the front.

I would like to thank Diane over at Newton’s Nook for selecting my card as her Inky Favorite! (Helen F. shows amazing creativity with limited summer-themed NND products. She creates a beach scene in which her lady from the Sips & Stories stamp set can enjoy looking out while sipping a cup of coffee. She adds amazing details to make this an amazing beach bungalow including a kite from the Delightful Doxies stamp set and flip-flops using the Beach Bum Thongs freebie. Such a relaxing scene!) Much appreciated!
A big thank you also to the team over at Pammies Inky Pinky Challenge for selecting my card for an Honorable Mention. Thanks so much!
Hello and welcome
This week I couldn’t resist combining the Challenges over at Newton’s Nook and Time Out as I could combine 2 of my favourite things – the beach and books.
I started by stamping the images from Newton’s Nook – Sips & Stories stamp set, Distress watercolouring and fussy cutting, along with the kite from NN – Delighful Doxies stamp set and the Freebies – Beach Bum thongs.
As I didn’t have many NN stamp sets, I decided to make a beach scene through the window.
To add to the beach theme, I also used some old wooden cube images from local Queensland stamp company which has sadly closed. I love the cute little beach images and hoped they looked like book pages or covers.
The background features Darice brick Embossing Folder.
I used Mama Elephant – Window die.
The bench seat uses a Cuttlebug EF using a scrap of packaging.
The sentiment is from NN – Porch Swings Friends stamp set.
I had lots of fun putting together this cute little scene.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit. I love to read your comments.
I was lucky enough to get this sweet PB stamp – Beach Baby from my wonderfully crafty friend Therese from Lost in Paper and fell in love with it.
After stamping and copic colouring, I fussy cut the top section and attached it to a panel which had the sun rays stecilled on it.
To keep with the theme of spots & stripes, I added spots to her swim suit and beach sand and stripes to her hat ribbon and towel.
The sentiment is from PB – Sunny Days stamp set.
As I didn’t have any wider navy stripe ribbon, I cut a piece of navy card from a piece of packaging and added a scrap of navy stripe ribbon in the centre before attaching it to the card front.
To finish, I added some die cuts using Memory Box – Seaside Treasures cut from another scrap of packaging.

(I tend to often use more cool colours, but then I do love to use the warm colours too. Strangely, I find I use yellow less than any other as I sometimes struggle with them. In this fun scene, I kept mostly to the cool colours but then had to add the warmth of the yellow to add to the feeling of a warm sunny day at the beach.)
Happy Saturday everyone. It’s time for a new challenge over at LIM. The challenge is to create using the theme: Colours (Traditional Christmas)
Today I chose a wood block stamp from Penny Black – Gift Tower, copic coloured.
Using MFT Postage Stamp dies, I cut one from white card and one from gold glitter scraps (from last year’s crackers)- mid size and smallest.
The image was trimmed to fit onto the frame and layered up on the gold piece.
The smallest one had the senitment from an old Docrafts – Winter Wishes mini stamp set added before layering on the gold piece.
The pieces were added to the card front at different angles for interest.

The background for today’s card is where I had played with some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders. I love the way playing with these powders turn out.
SSS – Stacked Stars die cut along with the sentiment from SSS – You’re a Star die was cut from some scrap silver holographic card from some packaging and were added to the card front. (I decided to trim the sentiment so it reads – You Star)
So simple but very eye-catching!

I’m thrilled to be back as Guest Designer for the July Challenge over at Stamping Sensations. The theme is Summer Flowers! How wonderful!!
The challenge is open from July 3 to 24th. I hope you can play along.
My card features Altnew Paint-A-Flower: Sweet Pea stamp.
I started by stamping the sweet peas on a piece of card and watercoloured using Distress Inks.
The sweet peas were white heat embossed twice on velum.
All pieces were then fussy cut.
I added some light Speckled Egg Distress Ink sprayed with a little water on Altnew – Enchanting Vines EF. It gave a lovely soft look to the background, before being layered on the card front.
The flowers were then layered over the embossed background.
Altnew’s Hello die cut was added at the end.
I have always loved sweet peas.

This fun challenge gave me the opportunity to play with fun, new to me stamp – PB -Cheerful stamp. Love the fun arsty look featuring both spots and stripes on these leaves!
After stamping the image in black, it was Distress watercoloured in bright, fun colours.
I then added white pen, jelly roll glitter pen and clear Wink of Stella to the c images.
The sentiment comes from PB – Just for You stamp set.
