Favourite's Bagde

Hello and welcome

Today I’m thrilled to have been invited to be a Guest Designer over at the wonderful Time Out Challenges.  This challenge is kindly sponsored by STAMPlorations.

The theme this time is an Inspired by Words Challenge.  These special words are perfect for starting a new year.

Time Out Challenge 151.png1-1

My card features Penny Black Slapstick/ Cling stamp – Spontaneous Joy.  I did some no-line watercolouring  using Distress Inks Festive Berries and Gansai Tambi watercolours. To add a little sparkle, I used pearlized water for my colouring.

To finish I added some black Prismacolor  pencil in the centres and some gold and clear glitter pens for the dots in the centre.

The SSS Believe sentiment was heat embossed using Black Sparkle EP. It’s such a shame your can’t see the sparkle in the photos, as it is so pretty IRL.

I added some black and gold spatters to finish.

After trimming I added to a square card front and added 3 clear gems at the bottom.

I hope you will have time to participate in this great challenge!
Be sure to stop by the Time Out blog and see all the amazing design team creations!
I can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments.

Have a great day

Cheers

Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. oh this is a joy Helen, we are so pleased to have you as GD. What an amazing card. I just love the arty feel to this-the splatters add to this feel. As you know I love your water colouring and have saved your instructions for me….but I could never make a beauty like this! We are so happy to have you as our GD x

    1. Hi Sandie

I just thought I’d let you in on a little secret!  When I finished colouring my card, I heat embossed the ‘believe’, but as it was w/c paper with uneven texture, some of the large grains of the glitter EP flew off when heated- I forgot to heat from the back first!!!  I had thought about adding some splatters, but it was then decided they had to be black, so then I balanced with some gold!!!  I think I’m an expert at fixing mistakes (as I make many!).  LOL!!!

      Love

      Helen xx
