Time Out #305

Hello and welcome

Time Out has a new challnege that opens today and runs through February 4th. This time it is an Inspired By challenge and it is… A favourite card making technique

Card making techniques involve various methods to add texture, dimension, and unique looks, including stamping techniques (heat embossing, two-step, rolling, stamping off), colouring methods (watercolor, blending brushes, marker techniques, crayon resist), texture additions (dry embossing, paper kintsugi, faux finishes like silk/metal), iinteractive elements (gate folds, easel cards, card spinners), and background effects (Gelli printing, tissue paper, ink smooshing) for creative papercrafts. The list goes on and on…
Please choose one or more of your favorites for your project, and BE SURE TO NAME IT/THEM IN YOUR POST.

Our wonderful sponsor, Top Flight Stampsisgenerously offering a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

I decided to chose colouring as my technique as it’s something I love to do. Today’s card featuring Altnew – Paint-A-Flower: Lotus is one I loved as soon as I saw it. Sadly it has been sitting in my box unfinshed since it arrived. It is coloured using Prismacolor pencils after stamping in white ink on the black cardstock.

To add a little dimension, I decided to add frames from Altnew Fine Frames Cover Dies in both black and gold as well as raising the main panel up inside the larger frame..

I decided to leave the sentiment fom my card and I can add it when I decide what I need.

Please head over to our blog to  check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!

Cheers

Helen

Penny Black Saturday Challenge – January 2026

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a reminder for the Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday January Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Something New!)

This time, I chose a lovely elegant and new – Springtime Table – Slapstick/ Cling stamp.

After stamping it was Distress ink watercoloured and finished with some soft ink blending on the bottom section. I also went over the frame of the table to give some shine like a metal table.and parts of the black pot using a Jelly Roll pen. Sadly it is very difficult to photograph, but is really pretty IRL.

The sentiment is from PB – Special Thoughts stamped using Brilliance Statlite Black ink to give an added sparkle interest to match the table..

The frame is cut using Pinkfresh – Essential Slim Cuts Dies.

Hello and welcome

We also have our first challenge of 2026 for you  that opens today and runs through to January 21.

This time it is a Theme challenge.

All That Glitters

Our wonderful sponsor, GinaK Designsisgenerously offering a $25 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are joined by Heather Heroldt of Handmade by Heather, and winner of Time Out #299 as Guest Designer.

What a fun challenge!

When I had some play time with my alcohol inks to create this pretty glittery gold on red inks. It was the first time I had used the red and gold. Love it! I finally decided to let the panel shine and just a sentiment. Sadly it is so difficult to get it to shine properly in a photo. It is so pretty IRL!

The sentiment is an old Winnie & Walter die cut from glitter card stock.

The card now fits lots of different occasions.

Hello and welcome

I’m back with the first Challenge for 2026 over at Penny Black Saturday January Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Something New!

I chose an elegant little stamp I hadn’t used yet – PB – Graceful!

After simple watercolouring, the image was fussy cut.

The background is a very old Cuttlebug embossing folder. The raised sections were highlighted with Distress ink.

The sentiment is from PB – ‘Waddling By’ stamp set.

Today was my first day without my sling, so just a simple card today.
