Hello and welcome

It’s time for another fun “Photo Inspiration” challenge over at Time Out!

This is a very special photo of a handmade bag made by our wonderful sponsor, Kim Heggins of Running Stitch Design. Kim is a friend, supporter and former DT Member of Time Out. She has a variety of handmade bags in different sizes, shapes and fabric in her ETSY Shop. This is one of her fabulous handmade bags as both the inspiration AND the prize for this challenge. How cute?

Looking through my dog images I fell in love with this new Newton’s Nook image from the “Sky High Celebrations” set. It was copic coloured and fussy cut. Wink of Stella added some shine to the balloons.

The background features Mama Elephant Tri Window Cover die.

I created the background with ink blending and some watercolouring for bushes along the horizon.

The sentiments are from Newton’s Nook sets: Cocktail Mixer and Birdhouse Greetings .

Time Out #260

Hello and welcome

It’s time for our new challenge over at Time Out!

Our wonderful sponsor is Lawn Fawn They’re generously offering a $25.00 store credit.

My card uses a stamp from our Sponsor – Lawn Fawn. It is Birthday Before and After – just perfect to match some pretty striped paper.

I used MFT – Stitch Triple Peek-a-boo die for the main panel and used a smaller circle die for the 3 circles so I could place them where I wanted.

The images were stamped, Distress watercoloured and added back into the panel, except for the present chick that was fussy cut! I added a little glitter to the images too.

To add to the fun, I made the middle circle into a shaker! I do love a shaker card and it works so well with a fun birthday card!

I’m entering in Lawn Fawn’s challenge as I always think “Happy Birthday” is one the happiest and most well known song ever!! Little ones learn it very early in some form! 🙂

Please head over to our blog to  check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create using stripes. Good luck!

When I saw the theme “Birds of a Feather”, I thought of the old proverb: “Birds of a feather flock together!” It made me think of long lasting friendships between those who tend to share similar interests, personalities, views or tastes.

So my card features this fun Art Impressions stamp – Crazy Friends!! (It has been sitting unused till today! ) These girls certainly look like they enjoy time together!! For that reason I decided to make a shaker – one of my favourite cards!! The image was copic coloured and fussy cut.

The card front was cut with MFT stitched frame and MFT Stacked Star die.

The sentiments were from some of my very old favourites from There She Goes stamp company.

Please head over to our blog to  check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

This week my card features PB – Happy Together stamp set which has lots of pretty little florals.

After stamping it was Distress watercoloured using Blueprint Sketch and cut with a diamond die. An ink blended panel was used down the side with a smaller panel blended and stamped with the flowers in the same colour. Aanother piece was used to add a blue frame to half the diamond.

The sentiment is from PB – Sprinkles and Smiles set stamped in blue, heat embossed and fussy cut.

I love blue and white together.

Time Out Challenge #258

Hello and welcome

We are back with an Inspiration Photo for Challenge #258. It’s Leap Year, and our new challenge opens on Leap Day! We thought it fitting to have some leaping inspiration in the form of a frog!

We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn. Our challenge winner will receive a $25.00 Lawn Fawn store credit and an offer to Guest Design at Time Out for a future challenge.

After loooking through my stash, I found a frog stamp set from Katzelkraft. It hadn’t been used before.

After stamping the frog and watercolouring with Distress inks, it was fussy cut and covered with Glossy Accents to give him some shine.

I also found a pretty Lilly Pad stencil from Artistcellar. I inked a piece of green card with Evergreen Bough ink, then brushed some ink over the lilly pads with some greens. Finally the panel was sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

The panel was then added behind a MFT stitched rectangle frame made from the back of a coffee box. Love that kraft colour. The ‘Hello” die is from Avery Elle was added along with the frog.

The sentiment is from MFT- Sunshine & Friendship stamp set.

(PB Saturday Challenge) – Sending Hugs

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a reminder for the the February Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Wings).

As usual, we are sponsored by the awesome

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 97c36-123_logo_small.jpg

I chose PB – Tulip Queue stamp for my card which was watercoloured.

The sentiment was using a new favourite die – hugs edger. I decided to try something different and after ink blending the bottom panel, I cut the ‘hugs’ and then sprinkled the background section with water to add some interest, then clear heat embossed the word 4 times so it was really raised and shiny. It was then put back together and added to the bottom of the card front.

The butterflies were from the ‘Happy Together’ and ‘Flutterby’.

‘Sending’ comes from the Sending Wishes stamp set.

It was finished with by adding string to the bottom.
