Copper Autumn Leaves

P1060892Welcome

This card features an ‘oldie but goodie’ wood block stamp by a local stamp maker.  The background was water coloured using Distress Inks then heat embossed using Copper embossing powder. I finished it with a similarly shaped leaf shape and sentiment also copper heat embossed.

P1060893I hope this photo shows a little better how pretty the copper embossing really is.  Unfortunately, it causes a bit of glare when the light hits it at many angles.

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter. Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design. Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums. Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

  1. Definitely a goodie which will never look old! So beautiful with the embossing, and I love the simplicity of your design. I’m so glad you shared it with us at Double D in our Leave it to Me challenge!

  2. Oh, the shimmer and shine of your gorgeous leaves, sporting their fall coppery colours, has me swooning! Oak and maple leaves are my favourites; the first remind me of my dad, who was the sturdy oak in our family (miss him deeply), while the maples make my Canadian heart smile! Thrilled that you shared this lovely card in the STAMPlorations CAS gallery!

    1. I’m so pleased to hear my card brought such wonderful memories for you Carol. I have a maple (liquid amber ) tree in my backyard and it is just getting its beautiful leaves back for summer. So few of our trees loose their leaves – I just love to watch the turning every year. Thanks so much for your kind comments.
