Hello and welcome
It’s time for our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Artists’ Club.
This week Heidi is our hostess for our “All About Occasions” Challenge.
For my card, I played with a new Poppy stamp from Gina K Design set – ‘Through Thick and Thin’. I just love poppies and have always enjoyed painting them.
I started with a panel cut using Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangle Dies.
The base painting used a combination of Tombow Pens and Distress Ink markers. When dried, I repainted with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder – Lava Red. This gives the flower a lovely shimmery, metallic look.
I used Ranger Copper Embossing Powder to heat emboss the flower centre and sentiment from Honey Bee ‘Smile’ stamp set. I love this sentiment for a special birthday card.
This picture shows the lovely shimmer a little better (I hope!) So pretty IRL!
Thanks so much for visiting. Please head over to our blog to check out the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team. I look forward to seeing your take on the challenge!
I hope you can enjoy some crafting time
Helen

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband and daughter.
Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and have enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing and painting. China painting helped develop my understanding of colour and design.
Over the last few years card making has taken up a major part of my crafting time as I love to play with new techniques and mediums.
Since beginning my blog, entering various challenges has encouraged me to grow my skills and creativity.

I absolutely love this poppy. The colouring is stunning and the design of the card just perfects it. Beautiful.

I agree that poppies are so wonderful to colour and the colour of poppies can pretty much be anything which is even better. I remember my Mum had a garden bed full of poppies and they were so very bright and beautiful, just like yours here Helen!
